The City :Commission met in regular session, Mayor Buck and 'Commissioner Clary present
on roll call. Bishop absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, April 5, 1948 and adjourned meeting be
approved as read.
:';loved by 'Clark, seconded by Buck that this being the time for receiving bids for con-
structing a chlorine house at Oak Flats for the Water Dept., the following bids were
received: W.B. Edmiston and Sons $3,152.45 and Riggle and-Creighton p4 , 350.00 an con-
crete block and $4,400.00 on Cinder Block. The bid of W. B. Edmiston and Sons 'in the
sum of $31152.45 was accepted as the lowest and best bid and the Mayor and City Clerk
authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City of Yakima for the doing of said
work upon filing of the proper bond therefor: carried Buck and Clark voting aye on roll
call. Bishop absent.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Clark that an ordinance authorizing the purchase of equipment
not budgeted and declaring an emergency for the purchase of a motorcycle in the sum of
,950.00 for the Police Dept. be laid on the table for one week: carried Buck and Clark
voting aye on roll call. Bishop absent.

A RESOLUTION fixing; the time for hearing on Petition for Vacation of Street.
VfHEREA.S, a Petition has been filed with the 'City Commission of the City of
Yakima, a municipal. corporation, praying for the vacation of a street described as
follows, to -wit:
The South 25 feet of the East 140 feet of the West 165 feet
of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of the
Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 26,
Township 13 North, Range 18 E.W.M. in Township 13 North,
Range 18 E.W.M. in Yakima, Yakima County, Washington.
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY Z' CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That said Petition shall be brought on for hearing and determination on
Monday the 10th day of May, 1948, at the hour of 10 :00 O'clock in the forenoon on said
day a the office of the City Commission of the 'City of Yakima, at the City Hall. in
Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, or as soon thereafter as the same may be heard, and
that notice of such hearing be given as provided by law.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved this 12th day of
April, 1948.

in conflict herewith, and declaring an emergency."
