April 5, 1948
'The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop and
Clark present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, March 29th, 1948 and adjourned meeting
thereof were approved as read.
RESOLUTION. NO. C -777, WHEREAS, the Water Department of the City of Yakima is in need
of copper tubing for use in its construction work and the Yakima Hardware Company of
Yakima, Washington, has an adequate supply thereof on hand and has offered to furnish
the same at the present time for a price which is highly advantageous to the City•if
the purchase thereof be made at the present time in an amount not less than six thous-
and (6,000) feet, and it is for the best interest of the City to authorize the purchase
of six thousand (6,000) feet of said copper tubing at the present time for the price
offered by the Yakima Hardware Company and without receiving competitive bids.
NOVI, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TIE CITY COMMISSION OF YAKIMA,
WASHINGTON:
1. - That an emergency exists with reference to the above mentione
purchase and that the Purchasing Agent of the City of Yakima be and hereby is authorized
to purchase not legs than six thousand (6,000) feet of copper tubing for the rVater
Department of the City of_Yakima from the Yakima Hardware Company, said purchase -to be
made on the open market.

Moved by Bishop, seconded by Clark that Resolution No. C -777 be approved as read:

ORDINANCE NO. B -86.3, providing for the improvement of property in the City of Yakima,
Washington, by constructing a Portland- Cement concrete sidewalk, five (5) feet in
width; establishing a Local Improvement District providing for the method of payment
therefor and creating a special fund,
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Clark that Ordinance No. B -862 be passed as read: carried
Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that the City .Clerk is hereby instructed to give
notice to bidders for the construction of a sidewalk 5 feet in width on the west side
of South Tenth Street and Fair Avenue in L.I.D. No. 544; said bids to be received on
Monday, April 26, 1948 at 10 o'clock A.M: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting; aye
on roll call.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Clark that Ordinance No. B -863 be passed as read: carried
Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -863, changing the name of Washington Street from South Twenty -Sixth
Avenue ?Nest, to Arlington Street.

The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop
and Clark present on roll call.
Pursuant to notice heretofore given by the 'City Commission
vicinity of No. first Street to Fourth Street and from "C"
rezoning; said meeting was held and the matter taken under
Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that we do now adjourn:
