The City Commission Tact in regular session, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop and
Clark present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, March 8, 1948, were approved as read:
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the following pay rolls be allowed and the City
Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Street Dept. $2826.55; Sanitation
$2402.55; Parking Meters $242.95; Garage $113..30;. Cemetery 1546.40; I.rr:igation $253.00;
Water $2715.12: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the following claims be allowed and the City
Clerk authorized to issue warrants on the following funds: C.E. $8656.73; Street
$3873.18; Library $477.99; Cemetery 1096.28; L.I.D's X3812.64; Irrigation $475.17;
Water $6507.61; Cum. Res. Mun. Pur. 17866.75; Gas & Oil $1781.55; Library Gift $1.00;
F.R. & P. $38.58; P.R. & P. $90.29: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll
call.

behalf of the :City of Yakima upon the filing of the proper

Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for receiving bids on an
airport hangar and the bid of Timber. Structures, Inc., in the sum of $5,724.00 being
the only bid received, said award was made to it: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark
voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for receiving bids on
chlorinators, recorders and scale for the Water Dept., the following were received:
Wallace and Tiernan, 2 chlorinators in the sum of $5075.00; 2 recorders at $400.00
each; one scale $530.40, F.O.B. Yakima less $300.00 for old chlorinators or a total of
$6105.40. Rankin Equipment Co. on scale in the sum of 4572.00 F.O.B. Portland, Oregon.
The bid of Wallace and Tiernan was accepted as the lowest and best bid: carried Buck,
Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Buck that the application of Gilbert H. Moen for permission
to remove the curb in front of 111 So. 5th Ave. was taken under advisement: carried
Buck, Bishop and ~Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -859, amending Ordinance No. A -18 entitled "AN ORDINANCE regulating
billiard and pool rooms and bowling alleys fixing an annual license fee therefor, pro-
viding for the revocation thereof and a penalty for the violation of this ordinance,
repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith and declaring an
emergency" by repealing Sections 6 and 8 thereof.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that Ordinance No. B -859 be passed as read: carried
Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that we do now adjourn to meet Tuesday, March. 16,
1948, at 10 o'clock A.Ms carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.

RESOLUTION NO. C -7741 BE IT RESOLVED BY TIE CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON:
That it is its intention to construct a domestic water system
to serve all of the lots and tracts of land included within the following described
district situated in Yakima 'County, Washington.
Beginning on the center line of West Lenox Avenue 165 feet west of
the center line of Tenth.Avenue South; thence southerly and parallel
with Tenth Avenue South to Viola Avenue; thence westerly along Viola
Avenue to Pleasant Avenue; thence southerly along Pleasant Avenue to
Logan Avenue; thence westerly along Logan Avenue to Twelfth Avenue
South; thence southerly along Twelfth Avenue South to Mead Avenue;
thence westerly along Mead Avenue to Sixteenth Avenue South; thence
northerly along Sixteenth.A venue South to West Lenox Avenue; thence
easterly along Guest Lenox Avenue to the point of beginning. Also
the East half of Lots 11 to 20 inclusive of Edward's Addition, and
the East half of Lots 6 to 10 inclusive of Voelkerls Addition, and
the East half of Lots 6 to 10 inclusive, of Hackettf s Subdivision No. 2.
Said improvement to consist of the installation of the necessary
mains, fire hydrants, valves and other appurtenences for the purpose of supplying
water for domestic: use, and to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and
specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City .Clerk.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve-
ment are'hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting
of the City Commission, to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of
Yakima, Yakima County, I'llashington, at the hour of 10 o'clock A.M, on Monday, the
19th day of April 1948, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing on all
matters relating to the said proposed improvement, or objections•thereto, and for de-
termining the method of payment therefor; and the City Clerk is hereby directed. to
give due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost
of acquiring right; of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, inspection,

publication of notices and all other expenses incident thereto shall be borne by and
assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor, as
provided by law and as above described; and the :City Engineer is hereby directed to
submit to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing,
all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted.
