The minutes of the meeting of Tuesday, February 24, 1948 and adjourned meeting were approved as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the following payrolls be allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Fire Dept. .{8.06; Water $17.60; Sanitation $2044.30; Parking Meters $344.70; Garage $97.90; Street Dept. $2,336.65; Electrical $39.60; Cemetery $475.20: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that this being the time for receiving bids for con- structing an addition to Fire Station No. 1, the following were received: Riggle and Creighton 6'13,216.87; Leo S. Ross $13,384.00; Edmund P. Erwen $15.,988.00; Harold R. Sanford $15,847.00; Gilbert Moen $11,850.00. The bid of Gilbert Moen in the sum of $11,850.00 was accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the ;City of Yakima upon filing; the proper bond therefor: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that this being the time for receiving bids for con- structing a drill tower at Fire Station No. 2, the following were received: Riggle and Creighton $18,675.61; Gilbert Moen X19,500.00; Edmund P. Erwen $19,384.00; Harold R. Sanford $20,707.00 and Leo S. Ross $17,310.00. The bid of Leo S. Ross in the sum of $17,310.00 was accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to enter into a con- tract on behalf of the City of Yakima.upon the filing of the proper bond as provided by law: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that this being the time for receiving bids for in- candescent lamps for the year 1948, the Best Electric Co. was awarded the contract on a basis of 28 per cent discount on x$$'600.00 more or less: carried 3uck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that all bids submitted for renovating the heating plant at Fire Station No. 1, are hereby rejected and the ,City,Clerk instructed to re- advertise for bids to be received on Monday, March 15th, 1948, at 10 o'clock A.M: carried Buck, Bishop and "Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that the claim of Raymond W. Parkhurst in the sum of x`'50,000.00 against the City of Yakima for alleged neglect of his wife, Pauline Parkhurst, by the Police Dept. is hereby rejected: carried Buck, Bishop andClark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -856, amending Section 95 of Ordinance No. A -205, entitled: "AN ORD- INANCE to provide for the protection and preservation of the public health and pro- viding a penalty for the violation thereof; repealing ordinances numbered 20, 75, 76, 77, 117, 124, 134, 1901 194, 205, 230, 259, 375, 403, 449, 471, 497, 529, 532, 533, 547, 681, 682, 6841 727, 737, 878, A -22, A -30, A -39, A -69 and A -83 and all other ord- inances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, and declaring an emergency ", and declaring an emergency. Moved by Clark, seconded by Buck that Ordinance No. B -856 be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the following report of the Finance committee be accepted: Commissioners, ,City of Yakima, Washington. ADJOURNLD MEETING, TUESDAY MARCH 2nd, 1948 Tile City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop and Clark present on roll call. Tioved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that the report and recommendation of the Planning Commission heretofore filed with the City Commission relative to the rezoning of the area adjacent thereto, was considered and said report hereby approved and the City Attorney instructed to prepare the necessary ordinance in conformance thereto: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
