HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/20/1947 Business MeetingP1,1111 1 L October 20, 1947 The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop and .Clark present on roll call.- Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that the minutes of the regular meeting of Tuesday, October 14, 1947, be approved as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on, roll call. Moved by Bishop., seconded by Buck that claims be allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Current Expense $7,999.25° Street $4,412.62; Cemetery $124.37; L.I.D.'s $21,624.38; Irrigation $822.59; Water 37,719.69;,F. R. & P,'$.6.00; Gas & Oil $1,596.31; Library $732.56 and Library Gift $45.00: carried Buck, Bishop and !Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that the City Engineer having filed the assessment roll in L.I.D. No. 617, said roll is hereby accepted and the City Clerk authorized to give notice of hearing on said assessment roll for Monday,November 10,1947, at 10 o'clock A.M: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Buck that this being the time for receiving bids for the construction of the storm sewer in L.I.D. No. 633, the following were received: J. M. 'DeBlasio $12,179.95; State Construction Co. $16,819.00; Gallagher and Brandt $17,201.75; The bid of J. M. DeBlasio in the sum of $12,179.95 being the lowest and best bid said contract was awarded to him and the Mayor and :City Clerk authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Yakima upon receipt of the proper bond as required by law: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Buck, seconded by Clark that the ordinance author runway at the airport be laid on the table for one week Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that William M. Residence to-C. Residence District, be postponed to Monday, October 27, 19479 at 9 otclock A.M: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -818, fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District No.- 611, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of the unpaid portion thereof. Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that Ordinance No. B -818 be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that we do now adjourn: Clark voting aye on roll call.
