The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Buck and (Commissioners Bishop and
Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
September 22, 19479 be approved as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on
roll call.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the payrolls for the month of September, be
allowed as follows: Various Depts. $5888.93; Engineering Dept. $2614.98; Fire Dept.
$11,970.00; Police Dept. $9,891.52; Health Dept. $1319.42; F. R. & P. $1,997.30; P. R.
& P. 395.00; Cemeter Dept. $205.05; Street Dept. $319.30; :Cemetery X883.42; Library
$1691.05; Irrigation 935.00: carried Buck, Bishop and (Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -810, relating to and regulating the erection and maintenance of adver-
tising signs, billboards and banners in the City of Yakima; regulating advertising on
the streets of the City;.requiring a license for bill posting, a bond and license for
sign erectors, a permit for the erection of signs and billboards and the inspection of
such signs and billboards; providing for license permit and inspection fees, fixing
penalties for the violation thereof and repealing Ordinance No. A -138, passed and app-
roved by the (City Commission November 14, 1913, and any and all ordinances amendatory
thereof.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Clark that Ordinance No. B -810 be passed as read: carried
Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by-Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for the hearing on Resolu-
tion No. C -746 providing for the construction of a domestic water system on North lst
Street and there being no objection in writing or otherwise to said improvement or
any part thereof; It is ordered that the ordinance creating a local improvement be
passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -811, providing for the improvement of property in the City of Yakima,
Washington by the construction of a domestic water system; establishing a Local Improve
ment District; providing for the method of payment therefor and creating a special fund

Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by !Clark, seconded by Buck that this being the time for the hearing on Resolution
No. C -747, providing for the paving of the alley in Block three Heerman's Addition and
there being insufficient protest against said improvement; It is ordered that the ord-
inance creating a Local Improvement District be passed as read: carried, Buck, Bishop
and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -812, providing for the improvement of the alley extending from West
Walnut Street to West Spruce Street between Ninth Avenue South and Tenth Avenue South,
by paving the same with Asphaltic concrete, two inches in thickness, placed on a four
inch gravel base; establishing a Local Improvement District; providing the method of
payment therefor and creating a special fund.

RESOLUTION NO. C -751, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY "COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WN:
That it is its intention to improve the following streets by
grading, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and gutters: 31st Avenue North,
from Summitview Avenue to the north line of Craig Addition and Crossland, all of said
improvements to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to
be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk.
The district to be served by and assessed for the above des-
cribed improvements is described as follows, to -wit:
Lots Three (3) to Thirteen (13) of ;Craig Addition
and Lots One (1) to Eleven (11) of Crossland,
according to the official plat thereof on file and
of record in the office of the County Auditor of
Yakima County, Washington.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed .impr.ove,-
ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objection,;if -any, at a meeting of
the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima,
Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of 10 ooclock A. M. on Monday the 27th day of
October, 1947, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters
relating to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the
method of payment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give
due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of
acquiring right of way easements, engineering; surveying, advertising, publication of
notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed again-
st all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and
as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City
Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and
other information required by law to be by him submitted.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY 'COMMISSION this 29th day of September, 1947.

RESOLUTION NO. C-752$ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE 'CITY OF YAKIMA, WN:
That it is its intention to improve the alley extending from
West (Chestnut Street to Bell Street between Fourteenth Avenue South and Fifteenth Ave -
nue South, by paving the same with Asphaltic Concrete two inches in thickness, placed
on a four inch gravel base, all of said improvements to be constructed in full accord-
ance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed
with the City Clerk.
The district to be served by and assessed for the above described
improvements is described as follows, to -wit:
Lots One (1) to Twenty -six (26) inclusive, of Block One (1)
and Block Two (2), Loma Vista Addition to Yakima, Washing-
ton, according to the official plat thereof on file and of
record in the office'of the County Auditor of Yakima (County,
Washington.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed.improvement
are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of the
