The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Buck and !commissioners Bishop and (Clark
present on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for receiving bids for the
construction of Curbs and Gutters in DeAtley Park Addition, L.I.D. No. 629, the following
were received: Lone Pine Roofing and Paving Co. $33,195.06 and State Construction Co.
$23,642.10:- The bid of State Construction Co., being the lowest and best bid said contract
was awarded to them and the Mayor and !City Clerk authorized to execute a contract on be-
half-of the City of Yakima upon the filing of the proper bond as required by law: carried
Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for receiving bids for the
construction of a sewer system on Viola Avenue, L.I.D. No. 632, the following were ,re-
ceived: State Construction (Co. 43,193.95; J. M.- DeBlasio, $42,822.45; Gallagher and
Brandt $38,513.75: The bid of Gallagher and Brandt being the lowest and best bid, said
contract was awarded to them and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to execute a contract
on behalf of the City of Yakima upon the filing of the proper bondr carried Buck, Bishop
and Clark voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C -748, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF-YAKIMA, WASH:
That it is its intention to improve the following streets by
grading, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and gutters: Tieton Drive from 27th
Avenue South to 34th Avenue South; Voltaire Avenue;'Webster Avenue; 31st Avenue South
from Tieton Drive to Nob Hill -Boulevard; 30th Avenue South from Tieton Drive to a point
375 feet north of Nob Hill Boulevard; 27th Avenue South from Tieton Drive to West Wash-
ington Street; 28th Avenue South from West Washington Street to Fraser Way; Shelton Ave-
nue; Brackett Avenue; Fraser Way; West Washington Street from Grandview Avenue to 26th
Avenue South; and Bonnie Doon Avenue from Grandview Avenue to 30th Avenue South, all of
said improvements to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications
to be prepared by the City Engineer- and filed with the City {Clerk.
The district to be served by and assessed for the above described
improvements is described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at the intersection of 28th Avenue South and
Tieton Drive; thence easterly along Tieton Drive to a
point 140 feet east of 27th Avenue South; thence south
and parallel with 27th Avenue South to the Naches and
Cowiche Canal; thence southeasterly along said Canal
to 26th Avenue South; thence southerly along 26th Ave-
nue South to a point 306..9 feet south of West Washing-
ton Street; thence westerly and parallel with West
Washington Street to a point 165 feet east of 30th
Avenue South; thence southerly and parallel with 30th
Avenue South to.a point 245 feet south of Bonnie Doone
Avenue; thence westerly and parallel with Bonnie Doone
Avenue to a point 140 feet east of 31st Avenue South;
thence southerly to Nob Hill Boulevard; thence west-
erly along Nob Hill Boulevard to a point 140 feet east of
Grandview Avenue; thence northerly and parallel with
Grandview Avenue to a point 281 feet south of Bonnie
Doone Avenue; thence westerly and parallel with
Bonnie Doone Avenue to Grandview Avenue; thence north-
erly along Grandview Avenue to the south line of
Webster- Grandview Addition; thence westerly along
said south line to 34th Avenue South; thence northerly
along 34th Avenue South to a point 250 feet north of
Tieton Drive; thence easterly and parallel with
Tieton Drive to 28th Avenue South; thence southerly
along 28th Avenue South to the point of beginning,
except therefrom Lots 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 of Card-
iff's Suburban Tracts.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement
are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of the
City (Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima
County, Washington, at the hour of 10 o'clock A. M. on Tuesday the 14th day of October,
1947, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to
said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of pay-
ment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of
said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The cost and expense of said improvement; including the cost of
acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of
notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against
all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and as
above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission
at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other informa-
tion required by law to be by him submitted.

RESOLUTION NO. C -749, WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Commission of the (City of
Yakima,.public convenience requires a different location for arrangement of bus stops
within the City of Yakima.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE (CITY OF YAKIMA:

That pursuant to Section 3 of Ordinance No. B-731, passed and
approved by the City Commission June 18, 1946, Yakima Valley Transportation Company,
the grantee named in said ordinance, is hereby ordered and directed to change the
arrangement and location of the bus stops now used in the bus service supplied by said
grantee within the City of Yakima to the opposite end of each block where said bus
service now stops so that each bus stop will be located, after the effective date of
this Resolution, at the commencement of each block. in the direction in which the buses
may be operating. From time to time when public convenience and necessity require,
and upon written application by the grantee or members of the general public, a maj-
ority of the City Commission may permit bus stops to be located at the far end of the
block at certain points specified in such application.
A copy of this. Resolution shall be forthwith delivered to the
Superintendent or Manager in charge of operations of said.grantee and the relocation
of the bus stops as ordered herein shall be instituted within thirty (30).days from
the date of such delivery.

ORDINANCE NO. B -808, prescribing regulations for prevention of and protection from
fire; regulating the use, storage, keeping,, manufacture and transportation of combust-
ible substances, flammable oils and hazardous materials and processes in the City of
Yakima, providing penalties for the violation thereof, and repealing ordinances num-
bered, A -746, B -19, A -769, A -761, A -98, A -762, and all amendments thereto and all ord-
inances or parts of ordinances in conflict. therewith.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that Ordinance No. B -808 be passed as read: carried
Buck and Bishop voting aye on roll call. Clark voting no.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Buck that this being the time for the hearing on Resolution
No. C -745, providing for the resurfacing of Summitview Avenue from 16th Avenue North
to the westerly (City Limits by resurfacing same with a,one inch course of bituminous
concrete and by the construction of an eight inch storm sewer, and there being in-
sufficient protest by the property owners in said district: It is ordered that the
ordinance creating a Local Improvement District be passed as read: carried Buck, and
Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -809, providing for the improvement of property in the City of Yakima,
Washington by resurfacing Summitview Avenue from Sixteenth Avenue North to the westerly
City Limits; constructing a storm sewer; establishing a Local Improvement District;
providing for the method of payment of said improvement and creating a special :fund.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that Ordinance No. B -809 be passed as read: carried
Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
MOVED by Clark, seconded by Bishop that the City Clerk is hereby instructed to give
notice to contractors for resurfacing Summitview Avenue from 16th Avenue North -to
westerly City Limits together with an eight inch storm sewer, by publication as re-
quired by law; said bids to be received on Monday, September 29, 1947, at 10 o'clock
