The City !Commission met in regular session, Mayor Buck and Commissioners .Bishop and
Clark present on roll call.
Moved' by Buck, seconded by Bishop that the payrolls for the month of August, 1947, be
allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Various Dept.
$5858.75; Engineering Dept. $2440.11; Fire Dept, 11,960.00; Police Dept; $10,202.17;
Health Dept. $1,250.00; F. R. & P. $1997.30; P. R. & P. X395.00; Cemetery ;230.00;
Street $360.00; and Library $1963.40: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll
call.

ORDINANCE NO. B -804, relating to and providing for a. license or occupation tax upon
the business of distributing aviation gasoline and lubricants,' defining offenses and'
providing penalties and declaring an emergency.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that Ordinance No. B -804 be passed as read: carried
Buck, Bishop and ,Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for the hearing on Resolu-
tion No. C -742 providing for the construction of a sewer on Viola Avenue and other
streets in the City of Yakima in L.I.D. No. 632, and there being insufficient protest
on the part of the property owners in said district: It is ordered that; the ordinance 4
creating a local improvement district be passed as read: carried .Buck, Bishop and
Clark voting aye on roll call. '
ORDINANCE NO. B -805, providing for the improvement of property in -the City of :Yakima,
Washington, by the construction of a sewer; Establishing a Local Improvement District;
Providing for the method of payment therefor and creating a special fund.

ORDINANCE NO. B -806, amending Ordinance No. B -131 entitled "AN ORDINANCE relating to
and regulating traffic, travel and transportation and their incidents upon the streets
and other ways open to the public; prescribing the powers and duties of officers and
others in relation thereto; defining offenses; providing penalties and repealing cer-
tain ordinances concerned with. or relating to subject matter of this ordinance, and de-
claring an emergency "; and particularly that portion thereof pertaining to parking time
limited in certain places.

RESOLUTION NO. C -7471 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WA
That it is its intention to improve the alley extending from
West Walnut Street to West Spruce Street between Ninth Avenue South. and Tenth Avenue
South, by paving the same with Asphaltic concrete, two inches in thickness, placed on
a four inch gravel base, all of said improvement to be constructed in full accordance
with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with
the City -.Clerk.
The district to be served and assessed for the above described
improvement is described as follows, to -wit:
Lots One (1) to Sixteen (16) inclusive, of Block
Three (3), Heerman ►s Addition to Yakima, Washington,
according to the official plat now on file and of
record in the office of the Auditor of Yakima, County,
Washington.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve-
ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of
the City :Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima,
Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of 10 o'clock A. M. on Monday, the 29th day of
September, 1947, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters
relating to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the
method of payment for said impro vment; and the City :Clerk is hereby directed to give
due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of
acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, inspection,
publication of notices and all other expenses incident thereto shall be borne by and
assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor, as pro-
vided by law and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to sub-
mit to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all
of the d ata and other information required by law to be by him submitted.
