The City Commission met in regular, session, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop and
Clark present on roll call,
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
June 30, 1947, be approved as read: carried Buck, Bishop, and Clark voting aye on roll
call.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the following report of the Investment Committee
by approved:
City Commission,
Yakima,
Washington.

For your information, the following investments
were made during the month of June:

Bids were.-opened for the purchase of a motor grader, bids being :received as
follows:
From the Howard- Cooper Corporation, 1 -512 Adams Grader, f.o.b. Yakima, $9909.20,
From Nelson Equipment Company, 1 Galion 102 Motor Grader, f.o.b. Yakima, $9550,
plus sales tax, $286.50,
From Yakima. Farm Implement Supply, 1 Model "404" Rome grader, f.o.b. Yakima,
$11.99759
From Service Equipment Company, 1 Model 404 Rome grader, f.o.b. Yakima, $13,128,
plus sales tax.
After consideration of the various types of graders offered, it was moved by
Mr. Clark and seconded by Mr. Bishop that the bid of the Yakima Farm Implement Supply
for $11,975 be accepted and that the purchase be consummated.
This being the time for receiving bids for the paving or resurfacing Yakima
Avenue from Naches Avenue to 7th Avenue South and said bids being read by the City
Clerk and tabulated by the City Engineer, said meeting was adjourned to 1:30 P.R. for
final award of contract.

The meeting of the City Commission
was called to order at
1:30 P.M. after ad-
journment. City Engineer Collins submitted
the above report on the
bids received for
the repaving of Yakima Avenue. After some
open discussion it was moved
by Bishop and
seconded by Iti7ayor Buck that the bid of the
Columbia Asphalt Co. in
the amount of
$64,656.35 for the asphaltic concrete, the
same being the low bid,
be accepted and that
a contract for the work be awarded to that
company. At this point
Commissioner Clark
asked that the minutes show that he was in
favor of accepting the bid
of Fiorita Bros.
for cement paving in the sum of "179,822.
The motion was put with
Buck and Bishop
voting aye and Clark voting no.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that we do
now adjourn: carried

Clark - voting aye on roll call.
