Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the payrolls for the month of June, : 1947 be allowed and the City Clerk instructed to issue warrants as follows: Various Dept. $5850.60; Engineer Dept. $2468.00• Fire Dept. $'11,910.00; Police Dept..1.0,402.00; Health Dept. 1284.50; F.R. & P. �,,?�1997.30; P.R. C -7381 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY 0£' YAKIMAIWASH: That it is its intention to improve portions of Landon Avenue; First Avenue South; Second Avenue South; Broadway; Peach Street; Campbell Avenue; Stew- art Street; and West Lenox Avenue, as follows: Landon Avenue and First Avenue South from West Lenox Avenue to Campbell Avenue by grading, surfacing and constructing; con- crete curbs and gutters; First Avenue South, Second Avenue South and Broadway from Camp- bell Avenue to Peach. Street, the south side of Peach Street and the north side of Camp- bell Avenue from First Avenue South to Broadway by grading, surfacing and constructing concrete walks, curbs and gutters; the south side of Campbell Avenue from Broadway to the alley east of First Avenue South by grading and surfacing; Campbell Avenue from the alley east of First Avenue South to the alley east of Landon Avenue by grading, surfac- ing and constructing concrete curbs and gutters; Stewart Street, from Second Avenue South to tie alley east of First Avenue South by grading and surfacing; Stewart Street from the alley east of First Avenue South to the alley east of Landon Avenue by grading, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and gutters; the north side of Lenox Avenue from the alley east of First Avenue South to the alley east of Landon Avenue by grading, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and gutters, all of said improvements to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk. The district to be served by and assessed for the above described improvements is described as follows, to -twit: Beginning at the intersection of Campbell Avenue and Broadway; thence north along Broadway to Peach Street; thence east along Peach Street to First Avenue South; thence south along First Avenue South to Camp- bell Avenue; thence east along Campbell Avenue to the alley east of Landon Avenue; thence south along said alley to Lenox Avenue; thence west along Lenox Avenue to the alley west of First Avenue South; thence north along said alley to a point midway between Lenox Ave- nue and Stewart Street; thence westerly and parallel with Stewart Street to Second Avenue South; thence northerly along Second Ave- nue South to a point midway between Stewart Street and Campbell Ave- nue; thence westerly and parallel with Campbell Avenue to Broadway; thence northerly along Broadway to the point of beginning. All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of 10 :00 of clock A.T,I., on Monday the 28th day of July, 1947, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of pay- ment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement. The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed again- st all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Com- mission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted. RESOLUTION AND REQUEST FOR THE DI -RECTOR OF HIG I* NAYS TO PERFORM CERTAIN WORK I=?ESOLUTIO!,T ?PTO. C -739 S 1 1"' 0 1 1 1 June 30, 1947 Before the City Commissioners of Yakima, Washington, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the City Commission that the Director of Highways is author- ized and directed to conduct an Origin and Destination Survey in the City of Yakima to the amount of Fifteen Hundred (1,500.00) Dollars, and BE IT HEREBY FURTJ.[ER RESOLVED that the Director of Highways be and he is hereby authorized and requested to make expenditures as are necessary from available state funds for an on behalf of the City of Yakima to the extent of Fifteen Hundred (�',1, 500.0C Dollars as said City's costs in the above - mentioned project, reimbursement therefore being hereby pledged.as a part of this resolution, to -wit; That there shall be and there hereby is reserved, set aside and appropriated from the Current Expense Fund of the Citi, of Yakima and allocated for-the use and purpose herein mentioned the sum of Fifteen Hundred ($1,500.00) Dollars, which sui,i is to be held by said City in trust for the sole and exclusive purpose of making reimbursement therefrom to the State of Vashington for such expenditures made by said State for an on behalf of said City as said City's costs in the above - mentioned project. When and as the City is billed by the Director of High. ways for reimbursement for such expenditure made by the State, such billings when prop- erly supported by current accumulative estimates of the total cost of the aforementionec project to the date thereof shall be promptly paid by warrant or warrants drawn on the Current Expense Fund to the extent of the appropriation hereby made, reserved and set aside and allocated to such use and purpose.
