Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, June 9, 1947, be approved as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on.roll call. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the following payrolls:-.-be allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants therefor as follows: Street Dept. $3197.00; Park- ing Meters $254.10; Sanitation $1797.42; Health $102.50; Irrigation $277.20; Cemetery $863.92; Police $119.00; Water $2286.28: carried, Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that claim on the following funds be allowed and the City Clerk instructed to issue warrants as follows: Current Expense $5713.26; Cemetery $112.11; Irrigation $'566.51; Street $5713.26; Library $1441.22; P.R. &P. $74.26; Gas & Oil $2210.62; Library Gift X221.61 and Water $7828.23: carried, Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. The mayor submitted a letter dated June 12, ,1947 from Louis LaBow relative to his de- sire to sell to the City the Tahma Mausoleum. The following motion was made by the mayor: That Mr. LaBow be written and advised that if he would consider conveying; the mausoleum and all its assets to the City for a nominal consideration the City would investigate as to the obligations which such conveyance would involve; otherwise the City would not be interested in such conveyance and that there be no obligation, either expressed or implied, relative to the Cityls acceptance of the mausoleum . after invest- igation. The above motion -was seconded by Bishop and unanimously carried. The mayor having called attention to a proposed form of lease by the city and federal government for the building occupied on the airport as a weather bureau office, and the terms of the lease having been reduced to writing under date of June 18, 1947, and the lease calling for a rental of $267 per annum with a renewal clause to the govern- ment until June 30, 1956; it was moved by the mayor and seconded by Bishop that the said lease as submitted be authorized and that the mayor be authorized to execute the same on behalf of the city. Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for the hearing on the assessment roll in L.I.D. No. 607 providing for the paving of alleys in Blocks 34, 492 53, 23119 2323 290, and 371 and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said assessment roll or any part thereof; It is ordered that the ordinance confirming the assessment roll and every part thereof, be passed .as..,r.edd: carried, Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE ISO. B -790, confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement District No. 607 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -724 of the Ordinances of the City of Yakima. Moved by Clark, seconded by Buck that Ordinance No. B -790 be passed as read: carried, Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
