May 26, 1947 The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop and Clark present on roll call. Moved by Bishop,- seconded by Buck that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, May 19, 1947, be approved as read: carried, Buck, Bishop, and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that claims be allowed on the following funds and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Current Expense $998.49; Street $2533.39:, carried, Buck, Bishop, and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that the City Engineer having reported the completion of paving the alleys in Blocks 34, 49, 53, 231, 232, 290, and 371 by the contractor, said work is hereby accepted and the City Engineer authorized to prepare an assessment roll for said improvement and the City Clerk is hereby instructed to give notice of hearing on said assessment roll as required by law. for Monday, June 16, 1947 at 10 :00 o1clock A.M.: carried, Buck, Bishop, and Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINAN•CE INTO. B -784, relating to and regulating the operation of the Water Department of the 'City of Yakima: providing for regulating and fixing the use and price of connec- tions therewith for certain property described herein, and declaring an emergency. Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that Ordinance No. 8 -784 be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -785, regulating the sale of goods, wares, merchandise and services on the streets and sidewalks; prohibiting peddling from house to house in the City of Yakima; providing a penalty for violation; repealing Section 1(r) of Ordinance No. B -86, Section 13 of Ordinance No. A -152, Ordinance No. A -466 and Ordinance No. B -650 of the City of Yakima, and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith; and declaring an emergency. Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that Ordinance No. B -785 be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that we do now adjourn to meet Thursday, May 29th, 1947 at 10 :00 otclock A. M. carried, Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. ADJOURNED MEETING., THURSDAY, 1,1AY 29th, 1947, 10 A.14. The City Conhnission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop and .Clark present on roll call. 11ioved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for receiving bids on 4200 feet of 3/4" Type "K" copper annealled tubing, the following were received: Yakima Hardware Company, $26.59 per hundred foot; H.D. Fowler Company $25.50 per hundred foot. The bid of H. D. Fowler Company being the lowest and best bid said contract was award- ed to them: carried, Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the payrolls for the month of May, 1947, -be allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Various Depts. 45865.23; Fire Dept. 411,910.00; Police Dept. � ;10,349.03; Engineering Dept. $2603.00; Health $1397.50; Library $1761.30; Irrigation $935.00; F.H. & P. $1997.30; P.R.& P. 395.00; Cemetery $230.00; Street $360.00; Water $7621.17: carried Buck, Bishop, and Clark voting aye on roll call.
