The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Buck and Commissioner Bishop present
on roll call, Commissioner Clark absent.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
March,24th, 1947 and adjourned meeting thereof be approved as read: 'carried., Buck and
Bishop voting aye on roll call, Clark absent.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the payrolls for the month of March, 1947 be
Allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Various Departments
4p5,432.82; Engineering $ 2,378.00; Fire Department $11,910.00; Police - Department $9,495.
Health $1,281.13;. F. R. & P. $1,997.30; P. R. & P. 395.00• Cemetery $230.00; Street

Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that this being-the time for the hearing on Resolution
No. C- =713, providing for the Construction of a sewer system on West Lenox and other
streets in the City of Yakima and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to
said improvement or any part thereof; it is ordered that the ordinance creating a local
improvement be passed as read: carried, Buck and Bishop voting aye on roll call, Clark
absent.
ORDINANCE NO. B -7689 AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of property in the City
of Yakima, Washington, by the construction of a sewer; establishing a Local Improvement
District, providing for the method of payment therefor and creating 'a special fund.
Moved .by Bishop, seconded by Buck that Ordinance No. 8 -768 be passed as read: carried,
Buck and Bishop voting aye on roll call, Clark absent.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the City Clerk is hereby instructed to advertise
for bids as provided by law for the construction of a sewer on West Lenox Avenue: and
other streets in the City of Yakima, more. specifically described in Ordinance No..-B -768,
heretofore passed by the City Commission; said bids to be received on Monday April 14th
1947 at 10 of clock A.. M.: carried, Buck and Bishop voting aye on roll call., Clark
absent.- _

No. C -714, providing for the construction of an.irrigation system in Brackett Park
Addition and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said improvement or
any part thereof; it is ordered that the ordinance creating a local improvement district

ORDINANCE NO. Bil;769, AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of certain property by
the construction of an irrigation system establishing a Local Improvement District, pro-
viding for the method of payment therefor and creating a special fund.

ORDINANCE NO. B -7709 AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. B -131, entitled "AN ORDINANCE
relating to and regulating "traffic, travel and transportation and their incidents upon
the streets and other ways open to the public; prescribing the power's and duties; of
officers and others in relation thereto; defining offenses; providing penalties and re-
pealing certain ordinances concerned with or relating to the subject matter of this
ordinance, and declaring an emergency ", as amended, by amending Sections 107 and. 108
thereof.

RESOLUTION N0. C -722, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON:
That it is its intention to construct an irrigation system to
serve the following: described district;
Lots 6 to 9 inclusive of Block 1 and Lots 1 to 18 inclusive
of Block 2 in Summitview Addition to Yakima, Washington.
said improvement to consist of the installation of the necessary laterals, service
connections and other appurtenances for the purpose of delivering water for irrigation
purposes to each lot within the proposed district and to be constructed in full accord
ance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed
with the City Clerk.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement
are hereby notified to appear-and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of the
City Commission, to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima
County, Washington, at the hour of 10:00 o'clock A. M., on Monday, the 21st day of
April, 1947, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing on all matters relat-
ing to the said proposed improvement, or objections thereto, and for determini3`ig the
method of payment therefor; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of
said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.,
The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of
acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, inspection,
publication of notices and all other expenses incident thereto shall be borne by and
assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable- therefor, as pro-
vided by law and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit
to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the
data and other information required by law to be by him submitted.

.WHEREAS, under and by virtue of the terms of that certain agree-
ment,-'-made and entered into by s.hd between the City of Yakima and the State of Washingto
acting through its Department of Highways and the Director thereof, under date of April
1, 1947, the State will act as agent for the City of Yakima in the participation of
said City with the Public Roads Administration under the provisions of the Federal Aid
Road Act of 1944,'for the construction of First Street from "B" Street to Beech Street;
Beech Street to Lenox Avenue; South Corporate Limits at Lenox Avenue to Meade Avenue;
F. A. P. Nos. F- 105(9) . U- 105(7) and U- 132(21) copy. of %hich agreement is hereunto
attached, now referred to and by such reference incorporated herein and made a part
hereof, now, therefore, •
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that said agreement be and the same is
hereby ratified and approved; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Auditor of the State of Washingto
be and he is hereby authorized and directed to reserve an amount of Sixty -one Thousand
Two Hundred Thirty -five Dollars and o7/100 ($619235.07) from monthly fuel tax allotments
.being the amount not in excess of-the money reasonably anticipated to accrue to the City
of Yakima in the Motor Vehicle Fund during the current biennium as.the estimated partic-
ipating share and costs of the City of Yakima in the above mentioned project, all of
which money or various amounts thereof the State Auditor is hereby directed to draw
warrants against, and the State Treasurer is hereby directed to pay upon presentment of
such warrants at the request of the Director of the Department of Highways upon his
approval and submission of current vouchers to the State Auditor covering costs of the
above mentioned work, which sum or sums as covered by any such vouchers are to be
charged against fuel tax allotments of the City of Yakima.

to reserve monthly fuel
tax allotments
and draw warrants upon request of Director of Highways.
.WHEREAS, under and by virtue of the terms of that certain agree-
