T City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Buck,. and Commissioners Bishop -, and
C�'Rrk present on roll call.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that 'the minutes of the regular meeting of Thursday,
January 2, 1947 be approved: carried, Nuck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll calla
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that Lane IvIorthland be and he is hereby appointed to
the office of City Attorney of the City_ of Yakima; said appointment to take effect
January 6th, 1947 and to continue during the pleasure of the City Corimlission: carried,
Buck, and Bishop :voting. aye.'_.on roll, call',•., Clark.not voting.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that ,Harry Olson, retiring City Attorney, be given a
vote of thanks and appreciation for his services during the past nine years,as said
City Attorney: carried, Buck; Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Clark that Champ Sanford be, and he is hereby appointed to
the office of Superintendent of the Municipal Airport of the City of Yakima; said
appointment to tike effect January 6th, 1947, and to continue during the pleasure of the
City Cormiiission: carried, Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye' on roll call:

RESOLUTION INTO. C -7061
BE IT RESOLVED BY
THE CITY OF YAKIMA,
tVASI -aI NGTON:
That it is its,:-intention -to construct a domestic water system to
serve all the lots and tracts of land included vrithin the following described districts:
Beginning at a point 150.3 feet east of the intersection of
23rd Avenue north and Englewood'Avenue; thence westerly along
Englewood Avenue to a point 221.8 feet west of the west line,
of 26th Avenue North, said point being the northwest corner of
Lot 6 Wallingford Addition No. 2; thence south ;along the west
line of said lot a distance of 125.5 feet; thence easterly
parallel with the south line of Englewood Avenue to a point
140 feet west of the west line of 26th Aven -.e South; thence
coutherly parallel with the west line of 26th Avenue South
to the Old Powa-r House Road; thence easterly along said Road
to a point 150.3 feet east of the easterly line of 23rd Avenue
South; thence northerly parallel with the east line of 23rd
Avenue South to the point of beginning,
said improvement to consist of the installation of the necessary mains, fire hydrants,
valves and other appurtenances for the purpose of supplying water for domestic use, and
to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by
the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve-
ment arc hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meetinc of
the Cit`,r Commission, to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima,
Yakima County, Wash1_nr- .,ton, at the hour of 10 :00 of clock A. M., on Monday, the 27th da -IT
of January, 1947, irvhich time and place are hereby fixed for -the hearing on all matters
relating to the said proposed improvement, or objections thereto, and for determining
the method of payment therefor; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice
of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of
acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying advertising, inspection,
publication o" notices and all other expenses incident thereto shall be borne by and
assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor, as pro-
vided by law and as above described; and the Iity Engineer is hereby directed to submit
to the City Commmission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the
data and other information required by law to be by him submitted.. .

carried, Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE N0. B -754, AN ORDINANCE declaring that a public emergency exists; providing
for the expenditure of certain sums of money for various debts of -the City of Ya.kima,•
fixing the estimated az;so-L-its of such expenditures as near as may be estimated, and
declaring an emergency.
Moved by Bishop, seconded- by Buck that Ordinance No. B -754 be passed as read: carried,
Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that we do now adjourn to meet Thursday, January 9th

ADJOURNED MEETING, THURSDAY, JAIITUARY 9, 1947, 2 P.m.
The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop
and Clark present on roll call.
Complaint having been made by one, Louis Serp, as to the operation of one of the
pinball machines in Brovtl' s Cafe owned and operated by L. I. Larson, it was moved by
Buck that-the license for. all machines owned and operated by said Larson be revoked.
As..there was no second to said motion it failed to carry.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that all jackpots be eliminated from pinball machine
carried, Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that we do now adjourn: carried, Buck; .Bishop.-:arid
