Moved by Mogren, seconded by Sanford that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, December 23rd, 1946 be "'approved as read: carried, Mogren, Sanford and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Sanford, seconded by Iviogren that the following payrolls be allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Street Dept., $2,625.25; Cemetery 0406,00; Sanitation `$1, 923.25; Parking Meters 864.00; Water 1, 620.20: ' carried, Mogren, Sanford and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Sanford, seconded by Clark that this being the time for receiving bids on the 22 ton GPdIC Truck for the Water Department the bid of Ross Lynch Motor Company being the only bid received, said bid was awarded to him in the sum of $1,736.20: carried, Mogren Sanford and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Mogren that this being the time for receiving bids for the construction of the sewer on South Grandview Avenue and other streets in L.I.D. No. 611; the following; bids were received; Morrison- Knudson Co. 894,273.69; Carl M. Halvorson $89,833.50; Henshaw Bros. 574,293.45; State Construction Company 67,999.70. The State Construction Company being the lowest and best bid, said contract eras. awarded to them and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to enter into a contract with said company on be- half of the City of Yakima upon the filing of the proper bond as provided by law: carried, 1:Iogren, Sanford and Clark voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -705, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMIA„ WASH.: That it is its intention to improve 26th Avenue South from Nob Hill Boulevard to Tieton Drive by grading, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and gutt- ers, all of said improvement to be constructed in full accordance with the plans 'and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk. The district to be served by and assessed for the above described improvement is described as follows, to wit; Beginning at a point bn the north line of Nob Hill Boulevard 140 feet east of the east line of 26th Avenue South; thence northerly and parallel with said east line to Tieton'Drive; thence westerly along Tieton Drive a distance of 330 feet; thence southerly and parallel with 26th Avenue South to Nob Hill Boulevard; thence easterly along said Boulevard to beginning. All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, „at a meeting of the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of 10 o1 clock A.M., on Monday the 27th day of January, 1947, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said proposed improvement orc.objections thereto, and for determinging the method of pay- ment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to Give due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement. The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and as above described; and the City Engineer is: hereby directed to submit teo the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted. ORDINANCE N0, B -752, AN ORDINANCE providing for the acquisition by condemnation or pur- chase of the East 470 feet of the South 700 feet of the rarest half of the Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter, Sectio 1 20, Township 13 North, Range 19, E.J.M., for a City dumping; grounds, and providing for the method of payment therefor and declaring an emergency. Moved by Mogren, seconded by Sanford that Ordinance No. B =752 be passed as read: carried, Mogren, Sanford and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Mogren, seconded by Clark that we do now adjourn to meet Tuesday, December 31, 1946 at 9 o'clock A.Ms carried, P,Zogren, Sanford and Clark vogint aye on roll call. B -753, AN ORDINANCE amending Sections 208, 209 and Subdivision 4 of Sectie 301 of Ordinance No. B -25 entitled: AN ORDINANCE to be known as the Electrical Code of the City of Yakima for safeguarding life and property by regulating the installation, alteration, repair, use and operation of electric wires, appliances, apparatus and devic es in or about buildings on private or Jpub'lic property ( with certain exceptions); pro- viding for the licensing for regulation and revenue of electrical contractors, dealers and wiremen; defining approved electrical materials and appliances; prohibiting the sale or use of unapproved materials and appliances; providing penalties for the violation hereof; repealing all ordinances or parts of ordinances, in conflict herewith and declar- ing an emergency." and declaring an emergency.
