HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/03/1946 Business Meetingr 4 tembe The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Mogren and Commissioners:; Sanford a Clark present on roll call. + Moved by Mogren, seconded.by Sanford that the regular meeting of Monday:, August-26th, 1946 and adjourned meeting thereof be approved as read: carried, Mogren, Sanford ands Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Sanford that this being the time for receiving bids on the paving of the alleys in Blocks 34, 49, 53, 231, 232, 290 and 371, L. I, D. No. 607, and the bid of J. M. De Bla;sio, in the sum of $21, 438.46 being the only bid received, said contract was awarded to` him and the, °Mayor and the City Clerk authorized. to enter into a contract for said work on behalf of the City of Yakima upon the filing of a proper bond as provided by law: carried, Mogren, Sanford and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Sanford that this being the time for the hearing on Resolutio No. C -694 providing for.the construction of a domestic water system in Royal Crest Addition'And other property more particularly described in said resolution and there be- ing insufficient protest to said improvement or any part thereof; it is ordered that the Ordinance creating a local improvement district be passed as read: carried, Mogren, Sanford and Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -725, AN:ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of property in the City of Yakima, Washington, by the construction of a domestic water system, establishing a. local improvement district, providing for the method. of payment therefor and creating a special fund. Moved by Clark, seconded by Mogren that Ordinance No. B -725 be passed as read: barr'ied, Mogren, Sanford and Cl-Tk voting aye on roll call-. ORDINANCE NO. B -726, AN ORDINANCE amending Section 71 -a of Ordinance No. B -131 entitled: IIAN ORDINANCE. relating.to and regulating traffic, travel and transportation and their' Incidents upon the streets and other ways open to the public; prescribing the powers and. duties of officers.a.nd others in relation thereto; defining offenses; providing penalties and repealing certain ordinances concerned with or relating to the subject matter of this ordinance, and declaring an emergency." as amended by Ordinance No. R -571, and declaring an emergency. Moved by Mogren, seconded by Sanford that Ordinance No. B -726 be passed as read: carried, Mogren, Sanford and Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -727, AN ORDINANCE to provide for the submission to the people of the City of Yakima, Washington, a proposition to authorize a special Tax Levy in the sum of Twenty (20) mills.to be used for the construction of a public Library buildA ng.
