The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Mogren and Commissioners Sanford and
Clark present on roll call.

Moved by Mogren, seconded by Sanford that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday
December 31, 1945 be approved as read: carried, Mogren Sanford and Clark voting aye on
roll call.
• Moved by Mogren, seconded by Clark that Lorine W. Markham be, and he is bereby appoint-
ed as Trust.ee of the Yakima. Public Library to succeed N. K.. Buck, retired; said term
of office to continue for a reriod of five years: carried, Mogren, Clark and Sanford
voting aye on roll call.

That it is its intention to construct a domestic water system
to' serve all the lots and tra.ets: of land included within the following described
district: 1
Beginning 132 feet east of the intersection of West Washington
Street and Eleventh Avenue South ; - .thence south and parallel
with the east line of Eleventh Avenue South to Lenox Avenue;
thence west along Lenox Avenue to a point 140 feet west of the
west line of Pleasant Avenue; thence north and. parallel with
said west line of Pleasant Avenue to West Washington Street;1
thence easterly along West Washington Street to the point of
beginning.
said improvement to consist of the installation of the necessary mains, fire hydrants,
valves and other appurtenances for the purpose of supplying water for domestic use,la.nd .
to be constructed in full accordance with-the plans and specifications to be prepared
by the` "CI'ty Engineer and filed with the City Clerk.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve-
ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a. meeting'of
the 01ty Commission, to be held at ite office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima,
Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of 10 :00 o'clock A.M., on Monday the 4th da.y!iof
February, 1946, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing on all matters
relating to the said proposed improvement, or objections thereto, and for determining
the method-of payment therefor; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due i
notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement. !
The cost and expense of said improvement, including the costiof
acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, inspection,
publication of notices and all other expenses incident thereto shall be borne by an "I
assessed against all of the property legally and. properly assessable therefor, as pro-
vided by law and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to sub-
mit to'the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, ail
of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted.

Moved by Clark, seconded by Sanford that this being the time for the hearing on Reso-
lution'No. C--666 providing for the construction of a cement sidewalk on the west side
of Broadway Ave. between Baker Street and Stewart Street and there being no objections
in writing or otherwise to said improvement or any part thereof; it is ordered that the
ordinance creating a local improvement district be passed as read: carried., Mogren,
Sanford and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -692, AN"ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of the ?property on the
-west side of Broadway Avenue between Baker Street and Stewart Street In in the City of
Yakima., by constructing a Portland Cement Concrete Sidewalk, five (51 feet in width;
establishing a. Local Improvment District, providing for the method of payment therefor,
and creating a special fund.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Sanford that Ordinance No. B -692 be passed as read:
carried, Mogren,_Sa.nford and Clark voting aye on roll call.

notice to contractors for constructing the sidewalk on the west side of Broadway Ave.,
between Baker Street and Stewart Street; said bids to be received on Monday, January;
21st, 1946 at 10 o'clock.A. M: carried, Mogren, Sanford and Clark voting aye on roll
call.
