The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Mogren and Commissioners White and
Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Mogren, seconded by White that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
January 17, 1944 be approved as read: carried Mogren, White and Clark voting aye on
roll call.
Resolution No. C -591, A RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the sale of-the rock
crusher plant to George G. Ensminger and Company.
WHEREAS, .the City of Yakima owns a rock crusher plant for which
it has no present or immediate use and which has not been used by the City for.more
thanCa year,' and
WHEREAS, by making a sale of said rock crusher plant the same
be removed from idleness and used in national defense work, and
WHEREAS, George G. Ensminger and Company have offered to purchas
said rock crusher plant and to pay therefor-Fifteen Thousand Four Hundred Fifty and
No /100 Dollars ($$15,450.00) cash provided that immediate sale thereof is made to him
so that he can have immediate possession thereof in connection with his defense work,
now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA-0
That the rock crusher plant of the City of Yakima together with
its miscellaneous spare parts, supplies and tools be sold and that the offer of George
.'G. Ensminger ,and Company be accepted and that the Mayor-and Clerk of the City of Yakim
be and they are authorized and directed to execute a Bill of Sale thereto to said
purchaser for said purchase price, to -wit: Fifteen Thousand Four Hundred Fifty and
No /100 Dollars ($15,450.00).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that an emergency exists in that said
rock crusher plant is needed by said purchaser immediately for work in national defene
and unless said immediate sale is made said purchaser will not be available at aaA d
price and that there is not time to call for bids and that since.said.price offered
exceeds the price paid by the City of Yakima when it purchased said rock crusher plant
It is ordered that.said sale be made worthwith.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proceeds received from the sale
of said rock crusher plant be placed in the Cumulative Reserve Fund for Street Depart -
ment Equipment heretofore created and set up under ordina.nee No. :B -575.

ORDINANCE B- 601,a.mend.ing section 4 of Ordinance No. A -774
entitled, "AN ORDINANCE
relating to and regulating card rooms and the operation of
card tables; providing for
the payment -of a, license fee for the purpose of regulation
and revenue, providing a
penalty for its violation and declaring any "emergency, "revoking
all licenses issued
pursuant to said Ordinance No. A -774 providing for the refund
of 1944 license fees and
providing for new and larger license fees and declaring an
emergency, was introduced
by Mogren and read by the City Clerk.

be passed to its second
reading and read by title only: carried Mogren, White and
Clark voting aye on roll
call.

be passed to its third
