The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Mogren and Commissioners Washburn
and Clark present on roll call.
Moved. by Mogren, .seconded by Washburn that the minutes of the regular meeting of Mon -
day, October 5, 1942 and adjourned meetings thereof be approved as read: carried,
Mogren, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that there being no further business to come be-
fore the board, we do now adjourn to meet Wednesday, October 14, 1942 at nine o'clock

Township 13 North, Range 19, E. W. M., Yakima County, Washington, to the United States
of America ", was introduced by Mogren and read by the City Clerk.

Beginning at east curb line of 16th Avenue and thence west on
Summitview Avenue to west side of Park Avenue, a distance of
1350 track feet.
11th Avenue
Beginning at frog point of turn out from West Yakima Avenue
and thence :north on 11th Avenue North to south curb line at
West "A" Street, a distance of 400 track :feet.
12th Avenue
. Beginning at point of curve at 12th Avenue and West Yakima
Avenue thence south on 12th Avenue to north line of Division
Street, a distance of 1963 track feet.

West Yakima Avenue
First Track
Beginning in center of street at the intersection of 6th Avenue
and Yakima Avenue and thence west on West Yakima Avenue to
point of curve at 12th Avenue, a distance of 2055 tr.,ck feet.
Second Track
Beginning at the East line of 7th Avenue and thence west on West
Yakima Avenue to the point of switch between 10th and 11th
Avenues, a distance of 1398 track Beet.
"B" Street Loop
Beginning at the connection of "B" Street Loop with Yakima
Avenue Line at the intersection of Yakima Avenue and Front
Street, thence north on Front Street to "B" Street, thence east
on "B" Street to 2nd Street, thence south on 2nd Street to con-
nection with Yakima. Avenue Line at the intersection of East
Yakima Avenue and 2nd Street, a distance of 2780 track feet.
4th Street Line
Beginning at the connection of the 4th Street Line with the
East Yakima Line at the intersection of 4th Street and Yakima
Avenue, thence north on'4th Street to the north line of "A ''
Street, a distance of 510 track feet.
6th Street Line
Beginning at the connection with the East Yakima Line at East
Yakima. Avenue and 6th Street and thence south on South 6th
Street to the north line of Spruce Street, a distance of 1404
track feet.
WHEREAS, said rails are to be conveyed by the Yakima Valley Transporta-
tion Company, the owner of said rails, to the Metals Reserve Company;
WHEREAS, said rails, track fastenings, and other metallic track material,
are urgently and immediately needed in connection with the war program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima, Washington, is desirous of having said rails,
track fastenings, and other metallic track material removed from its streets and is
willing to permit such work to be done in the interest of the successful prosecution
of the War Program:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
1. That Metals Reserve Company be and is hereby given permission to
remove said rails, track fastenings, and other metallic track material located in the
said streets and. portions thereof, of the City of Yakima, Washington, hereinbefore
mentioned, and for that purpose to disturb the pavement in the streets where said rails
are located; this work to be carried out in accordance with specifications to be ap-
proved by City Engineer, who shall assure himself that the work is being done with
minimum interference with the movement of traffic, and that the slots from which the
rail is removed are refilled with a suitable available paving material.
2. That no damage to the streets will be claimed by the City of Yakima,
Washington, providing the Metals Reserve Company performs the work in accordance with
the terms, conditions, and 'specifications set out above.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION this 17th day of October, 1942.
