The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Mogren and Commissioners Washburn
and Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Mogren, seconded by Washburn that the minutes of the regular meeting of Mon-
day, September 28, 1942 and adjourned meeting thereof be approved as read: carried,
Mogren, Washburn and Clark voting aye on rollcall.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Mogren that the following payrolls be allowed and the
City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Irrigation $118.30; Cemetery $91.98
Cemetery Care $263.12; Park $253.99; Sanitation $886.30;Street $893.82; Street Mtse.
$239.58; C.S.P. #36 $473.60 and Water $148.35: carried, Mogren, Washburn and Clark
voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Mogren, seconded by.Washburn that the passage of the ordinance fixing the
budget for the year 1943 be continued.to Tuesda,yr,.October 6, 1942 at nine o'clock A.M:
carried,- Mogren, Washburn and Clark voting-aye on roll call.
ADJOURNED MEETING, TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6, 1942, 9 A. M.
The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Mogren and Commissioners'Wash-
burn and Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Mogren, seconded by Washburn that the passage of the ordinance fixing the
budget for the year 1943 be continued to Wednesday, October 7, 1942 at nine o'clock A.

ADJOURNED MEETING, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7, 1942, 9-A. M.
The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Mogren and Commissioners Wash-
burn and Clark present on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C -554, WHEREAS, A. T. L. Williamson, Sr. Commercial Specialist, War
Production Board has by letter dated the 25th day of September, 1942, requested the
Metals Reserve Company, a subsidiary of the Reconstruction Finance Corporation, an
agency of the United States, to remove all the street car rail, track fastenings and
other metallic track meterial lying in the streets of the City of Yakima, Washington;
WHEREAS, said rails are to be conveyed by the Yakima Valley
Transportation Company, 'the owner of said rails, to the Metals Reserve Company;
WHEREAS, said rails, track fastenings, and other metallic track
material, are urgently and immediately needed in connection with the war program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima, Washington, is desirous of having
said rails, track fastenings, and other metallic track meterial removed from its streets
and is willing to permit such work to be done in the interest of the successful prosecu-
tion of the War Program:
NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED
1. That Metals Reserve Company be and is hereby given permission
to remove said rails, track fastenings, and other metallic track meterial located in
the streets of the City of Yakima, Washington, the location of which has been establish-
ed by War Production Board in said letter, and for that purpose to disturb the pavement
in the streets where said rails are located; this work to be carried out in accordance
with specifications to be approved by City Engineer, who shall assure himself that the
work is being done with minimum interference with the movement of traffic, and that
the slots from which the rail is removed are refilled with a suitable available paving
material.
2. That no damage to the streets will be claimed by the City-
of Yakima, Washington, providing the Metals Reserve Company performs the work in accord
ante with the terms, conditions, and specifications set our above.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, this 7th day of October, 1942.

ORDINANCE NO. B -574, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE fixing the amount of the tax levies nec-
essary to raise the amount of the estimated expenditures of the City of Yakima for the
ensuing year, to be levied upon the real and personal property of said City ", was in.-
troduced by Washburn and read by the City Clerk.

reading and ready title only: carried, Mogren, Washburn and Clark voting aye on,roll
call.
