The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Mogren and Commissioners Washburn.
and Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Mogren, seconded by Washburn that the minutes of the regular meeting of Mon-
day, May 18th, 1942 and adjourned meeting thereof be approved as read: carried, Mogren,
Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C -548, A RESOLUTION authorizing the improvement of a portion of East
Race Street, East Beech Street, East Maple Street, East Pine Street, South Front Street
and North Front Street in the City of Yakima, Washington, by the construction'of a
storm dra.i'n and by the elimination of the existing open gutters.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That the improvement of East Race Street, East Beech Street, East
Maple Street, East Pine Street,. South Front Street and. North Front Street by the con-
struction of a storm drain together with all necessary inlets and outlets and by the
elimination of the existing open gutters as shown on the accompanying plan, be and the
same is hereby authorized under the provisions of Chapter 187 of the Laws of 1937

on this 25th day of May, 1942.

Moved by Washburn, seconded by Mogren that the payrolls for the month of May, 1942 be
allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Various Depts.
$3311.43;;Fire Dept. $6849.16; Police Dept. $4935.30; Health Dept. $1287.50; Engineering
Dept. $803.55; F. R. & P. ?$907.05; P. R. & P. $140.00; Cemetery $141.75; City Street
$3.74.50; Park $140.00; Irrigation $486.95; Library $840.60; Water $3743.03: carried,
Mogren, Washburn and Clark voting a.,ye on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Mogren that the following payrolls be allowed and the
City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Sanitation $952.08; City Street
$1393.62; Cemetery $229.00; Cemetery Care $480.00; Park $784.00; Crusher $441.60:
carried, Mogren, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C -549, A RESOLUTION fixing interest rate on registered warrants of
Current Expense fund of the City of Yakima.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Yakima. did hereto-
fore provide for the registration of lrya.rrants issued on the Current Expense fund of
the City of Yakima, and fixing the interest rate thereon at 4%; and
WHEREAS, it has now been determined that the interest rate on
said warrants may be reduced to 2% and be accepted at the banks of this city;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said registered warrants
hereafter issued on the current expense fund df the City of Yakima draw interest at not
to exceed 2% from and after their rresentation, and that said interest rate appear on
the face of said warrants.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved this 29th
day of May, 1942.
