HThe City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Riley and Commissioners Washburn and
Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Riley,. seconded by Washburn that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
January 26th, 1942 and adjourned meeting thereof be approved as read: carried, Riley,
Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Riley, seconded by Washburn that the.pawn broker's license heretofore issued
to Chas. E. Steel be and the same is hereby revoked: carried, Riley, Washburn and
Clark voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C -540, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON:
That it is its intention to construct a domestic water system to
serve all the lots and tracts of land included within the following described district:
said improvement to consist of the installation of the necessary mains, fire hydrants,
valves and other appurtenances for the purpose of supplying water for domestic use,
and to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be pre-
pared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve-
ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of
the City Commi.ssion, to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima,
Yakima County, Washington, at the hour,of 10:00 o'clock A. M., on Tuesday, the 24th
day of February, 1942, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing on all
matters relating to the said proposed improvement, or objections thereto, and for de-
termining the method of payment therefor; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to
give due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The cost and expense of said improvement shall be distributed
as follows: The labor shall be furnished by the Works Projects Administration, and
the balance of the cost and expense incident thereto shall be levied and assessed agains
the property included in the district as is legally and properly assessable therefor,
as provided by law and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to
submit to the City Commission at or prior to the'date fixed herein for said hearing,
all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted.

ORDINANCE NO. B -546, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE amending Section 11 of Ordinance No. B -131,
entitled, "AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating traffic, travel and transportation
and their incidents upon the streets and other ways open to the public; prescribing
the powers and duties of officers and others in relation thereto; defining offenses;
providing penalties and repealing certain ordinances concerned with or relating to the
subject matter of this ordinance, and declaring an emergency ", by amending that part
of Section 11 defining "CENTRAL DISTRICT ", and declaring an emergency ", was introduced
by Riley and read by the City Clerk.
