Moved by Riley, seconded by Clark that the minutes of Monday, September 9, 1940 be approved as read: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -483, A RESOLUTION authorizing the ?purchase of 2000 feet of 22 inch, and 500 feet of 12 inch hose for the Fire Department of the City of Yakima.. WHEREAS, in a recent lumber yard fire in the City of Yakima, all of the •21 inch fire hose of the fire department of the City of Yakima was required to be nut in use, together with several hundred feet of borrowed hose, so that at the present time, two fire trucks of the City of Yakima are loaded with wet hose which renders it subject to serious damage by mildew; and WHEREAS, a part of the hose of the Yakima Fire Department wau, destroyed by fire in said lumber yard fire; and WHEREAS, the Fire Department of the City of Yakima is.in imme- diate need of 2000 feet of 22 inch, and 500 feet of 12 inch hose for the necessary fire protection in the City of Yakima, and an emergency exists; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA that an emergency exists and that the City of Yakima is in immediate need of the fire hose above referred to, and that the City of Yakima immediately purchase 2000 feet of 21 inch, and 500 feet of 12 inch hose for its Fire Department of the City of Yakima, of the standard quality and type necessary for such purposes. Moved by Washburn, seconded by Riley that the following claims be allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Current Expense $2,770.00; City Street $3,738.34; Library $260.59; Park ?566.68; Cemetery $$17.95; L.I.D. Revolving $1,948.52; L.I.D's $13,307.08; Irrigation $615.42; Water ?$3,584.11; L.I.D. Guaranty $2,000.00; Delinquent Property Sales $227.46; Crusher x$1,215.80 and P. R. & P. $23.30: carried, Riley,.Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moverl by Washburn, seconded by Riley that the following payrolls be allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Crusher $24.91; City Street $1,289.24; Sanitation ,?$782.75; Cemetery $84.00; Cemetery Care 191.50; Revolving $286.35; Irrigation $74.80; Park $387.00; City Street Proj. #25 $913.44 carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Riley, seconded by Washburn that the claim of Gertrude McDaniel in the sum of $1,500-00 filed August 15, 1940, for damages alleged to have been ststained by reason of falling, due to a defective place in the sidewalk on C Street between 2nd and 5th Avenues be denied: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on:roll call.
