Moved by Riley, seconded by Washburn that the minutes of the regular meeting of Mon- day, August 12th, 1940 be approved as read: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Riley, seconded by Washburn that this being the time for the hearing,on Reso- lution No. CN78, providing for paving the alleys in Blocks 230', 231, 250, 251, 270 and 290 in the City of Yakima, and there being a protest by several property owners abutting upon said above described property; it is ordered that said hearing be post- poned to Monday, August 26, 1940 at ten o'clock A. M: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. ' RESOLUTION NO. C -479, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON: That it is its intention to improve the following streets by the construction of concrete curbs and gutters: The south side of Tieton Drive from 20th Avenue South to 26th Avenue South; St. Helens St. from 20th Ave. South to the west line of.Marabel Heights Addition; Bonnie Doon Avenue from 20th Ave. South to 26th Avenue South; the west side of 20th Ave. South from Tieton Drive to Maclaren Street; both sides of 2.0th Ave. South from Maclaren St. to West Washington Street extended; 21st Ave. South from Tieton Drive -to Maclaren St. and from the south right of way line of the Natchez,a.nd Cowychee Ditch to Nob Hill Boulevard; 22nd Avenue South from Tieton Drive to Nob Hill Boulevard; 23rd Ave. South from Tieton Drive to Maclaren St., also from the north line of the SW4 NE4 of Section 26, Township 13 North, Range 18 E.W.M. to a point 220 feet north of the north.line of Nob Hill Boulevard; 24th Avenue South from Maclaren St. to Nob.Hill Blvd. and 25th Ave. South.from Tieton Drive to Nob Hill Boulevard. The district to be assessed is as follows: Beginning at the intersection of Tieton Drive and 20th Ave. South; thence southerly along 20th -Ave. South to Maclaren Street; thence easterly along Maclaren St. to a point 150 ft. east of the east line of 20th Ave.. South; thence southerly and parallel with 20th Ave. South to West Washington St. extended; thence westerly to the west line of Lot 12 in Chase Hill Residence Tracts; thence southerly along said west line to the right of way of the Natchez and Cowychee Ditch; thence southeasterly along said right of way to the alley between 20th Ave. South and 21st Ave. South; thence southerly along said alley to a'point 240 feet north of the north line of Bonnie Doon Avenue; thence easterly and parallel with Bonnie Doon Avenue to 20th Ave. South; thence southerly along 20th Ave::. South to Bonnie Doon Avenue; thence westerly along Bonnie Doon Ave. to the alley west of 20th Ave. South; thence southerly along said alley to Nob Hill Boulevard; thence ? westerly along Nob Hill Blvd. to a point 156.4 feet west of the west line of 22nd Ave. South; thence northerly and paralle Tfrith ?_ ?_nd Ave. South to a point 219.75 feet north of the north line of Nob Hill Boule- vard; thence westerly to a point midway between 23rd Avenue South and 24th Ave. South; thence south to Nob Hill Boulevard; thence westerly along Nob Hill Blvd. to a point midway between 25th Ave. South and 26th Ave. South; thence northerly and parallel with .25th Ave. South a distance of 306.25 feet; thence westerly to 26th Ave. South; thence northerly along 26th Ave. South to a point 312.5 feet north of the north line of Bonnie Doon Avenue;_ thence easterly and parallel with north line of Bonnie Doon Avenue to a point midway between 25th Ave. South and 26th Ave. South; thence northerly and parallel with 25th Ave. South to a point 275 ft. south of Tieton Drive; thence westerly to 26th Ave. South extended; thence northerly along 26th Ave. extended to Tieton Drive; thence easterly along Tieton Drive to the point of beginning, excepting therefrom the follow- ing described property: Beginning at a, point on the west line of 24th Ave. South, said point being 300 feet south of the south line of Tieton Drive; thence westerly a distanc of 145 ft.; thence southerly and parallel .with 24th Ave. South a distance of 334 ft.; thence easterly a distance of 330 ft; thence northerly a distance of 334 ft; thence westerly a distance of 330 ft. to the point of beginning, and also excepting the E1 W- SW4 NWI NEI. of Section 26; Township 13 North, Range 18 E.W.M.; said improvement W be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City.Engineer and filed with the City Clerk. All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve- ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of ten o'clock A. M., on Monday, the 23rd day of September, 1940, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing on all mat- ters relating to the asid proposed improvement, or objections thereto, and for deter- mining the method of payment therefor; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement. The cost and expense of said improvement shall be distributed as follows: The labor and a portion of the materials shall be furnished by the Works Projects Administration and the balance of the cost and expense, including engineer- ing, inspection, advertising, publication of notices, and all -other expenses incident thereto, shall be levied and assessed against the property included in the district,• as is legally and properly assessable therefor, as provided by law and as above des - cribed;-and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other infor- mation required by law to be by him submitted. B -468, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE regulating the design, installation and construction of containers and-pertinent equipment for the.storage, handling or use of liquefied petroleum gases, and regulating the design and operation of equipment for use of liquefied petroleum gas as a motor fuel in the "City of Yakima; providing pen-, alties for the violation thereof, and declaring an emergency," was introduced by Wash- burn and read by the City Clerk. Moved by Riley, seconded by Clark that Ordinance No. B -468 be passed to its second reading and read by title only: -carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call. B -469, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of install- ments of assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District No. 560, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of the unpaid portion thereof ", was introduced by Riley and read by the City Clerk. Moved by Clark, seconded by Washburn that Ordinance No. B -469 be passed to its second reading and read by title only: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll, call.
