Moved by Rileyy, seconded by Washburn that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
June 10th, 1940 and adjourned meeting thereof be approved as read: carried, Riley,
Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Riley that the following claims be allowed and the City
Clerk authorized to issue warrants on the following funds: Current Ex ense $4,646.90;
City Street $5,054.63; Park $630.88; Cemetery $356.63 ; Fixed Estimate 2 6:69; Irriga-
tion 1,282.19; L.I.D. Revolving $5,158.49; L.I.Ds $4894.49; F. R. & P. 42.50; P. R.
& P. 11,302.39; Crusher $3,289.80; Bond Sinking $2.52; L.I.D. Guaranty $200.00 and
Water $2,212.14: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Riley, seconded by Washburn that the claim of S. P. Velikanje, in the sum of
$31.50 for damages alleged to have been sustained by reason of water collecting in his
basement, which accrued during the excavation of ditches on South 20th Avenue in con-
structing a sewer system for Local Improvement District No. 568, is hereby denied:
carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that this being the time for receiving bids for
pipe for the Water Department, the following were received: Pacific States Cast Iron
Pipe Company in the sum of $5,960.00; American Cast Iron Pipe Company by Crane Company
$7,520.00 and $6,752.00; Hugh G. Purcell $6,320.00; Yakima Hardware Company on Items
5 & 6, $3,331.60: the bid of the Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe being the lowest and
best bid, said contract was awarded to said company: carried, Riley, Washburn and
Clark voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Riley that the following payrolls be allowed and the
City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Sanitation $735.7 ,'Park $$703.09;
Crusher $498.75; City Street g$954.29; Cemetery $16&.00; Cemetery Care 426.00; carried,
Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -456, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of install-
ments of assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local
Improvement District No. 559, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons at-
tached, for the payment of the.unpaid portion thereof ",. was introduced by Clark and
read by the City Clerk.
Moved by Washburn, seconded by Clark that this being the time for the hearing on Reso-
lution No. 0-475, providing for the construction of pipe sewers on Lenox Avenue et al,
known as "Broadway Park Addition No. 2" and there being no objections in writing, or
otherwise, to said improvement or any part thereof; it is ordered that the ordinance
creating a Local Improvement District be passed as finally read: carried, Riley, Wash-
burn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -457, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of property
in the City'of Yakima, Washington, by the construction of pipe sewers; establishing
a Local Improvement District; providing for the method of payment therefore; and creat-
ing a special fund ", was introduced by Clark and read by the City Clerk.

reading and read by title only:. carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll
call.

ORDINANCE NO. B -458, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE amending Section 1 of Ordinance No. B -453
of the City of Yakima, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of proper
ty in the City of Yakima, Washington, by the construction of an irrigation system; es-
tablishing a Local Improvement District; providing for the method of payment therefor;
and creating a special fund ", by including in said Local Improvement District addition-
al property ", was introduced by Clark and read by the City Clerk.
