on roll call, Commissioner Washburn absent. `
Moved by Riley, seconded by Clark that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
February 5th, 1940 and adjourned meeting thereof be approved.as read: carried, Riley
and Clark voting aye on roll call, Washburn absent.
Moved by Riley, seconded by Clark that the following payrolls be allowed. and the City
Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows: Sanitation $735.20; Crusher $115.14;
City Street Dept. $2,204.87; Cemetery $93.00: carried, Riley and Clark voting aye on
roll call, Washburn absent.
Moved by Riley, seconded by Clark that the City Engineer having reported the comple-
tion of the sewer -project in Block 1 of Edson's 2nd_ Addition, Local Improvement Dis-
trict No. 553, said improvement is hereby accepted and the City Engineer is hereby
authorized to prepare an assessment roll for said district and the City Clerk author-
ized to give notice of hearing on said, assessment roll for Monday, March 11th, 1940
at ten o'clock A. M: carried, Riley and Clark voting aye on roll call, Washburn ab-
sent.
ORDINANCE NO. B -434, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of property
in the City of Yakima, Washington, by the construction of a water system; establish-
ing a local improvement district; providing for the method of payment therefor; and
creating a special fund ", was introduced by Riley and read, by the City Clerk..
Moved by Clark, seconded by Riley that Ordinance No. B -434 be passed to its second
reading and read by title only: carried., Riley and Clark voting aye on roll call,
Washburn absent.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Riley that Ordinance No. B -434 be passed to its third
reading and read in full: carried, Riley and Clark voting aye on roll call,.Washburn
absent.

ORDINANCE NO. B -435, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of property

The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Riley and Commissioners Wash-
burn and Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Washburn, seconded.by Clark that the City Engineer having reported the com-
pletion of the improvement in Local Improvement District No. 545, for the construc-
tion of a sewer in Stanley Park and other streets In said City, said_ improvement is
hereby accepted and the City Engineer authorized to pre-pare an assessment roll for
said district and the City Clerk instructed to give notice of hearing on said roll
for Monday, March 11th, 1940 at ten o'clock A. M: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark
voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE N0. B -436, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE amending Section 11 of Ordinance A -988,
entitled: "AN ORDINANCE creating a Water Department, regulating the operation there-
of, providing for the management and control of the same, providing for rules, regulat-
ing and fixing the use and price of water supplied by the City, providing penalties
for the violation thereof and declaring an emergency"; as heretofore amended by Or-
dinance No. B -269; by adding two new subdivisions thereto to be known as (e) -1 and
(k) -1, and by amending subdivisions (c) and (I) of Section, 11 of said Ordinance," was
introduced by Riley and. read. by the City Clerk.

Clerk authorized to issue-warrants on the following funds: Current Expense $3j267.72;
City Street $2910.73; Park $47.97; Water $3358.93; L.I.Ds $8.2.0; Revolving $2416.81;
Irrigation $88.17; Cemetery $47.32; Municioa.l Garage 196.3; P. R. & P. $45.00 and
Crusher $151.83: carried, Riley, Washburn and Clark voting aye on roll call.
