For Meeting of: 9/3/2013
ITEM TITLE: Resolution declaring meter lids surplus and authorizing
disposal of these items in a manner most beneficial to the

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
Part of the Automated Meter Reading Project is to replace meter tile lids that have a seven inch
opening with a ten inch opening, which makes the old seven inch opening lids obsolete. The
current state contract recycling vendor has indicated they can not pick the lids up due to the
lack of drivers. Pacific Steel and Recycling has agreed to pick the lids up and pay the going
price for cast iron.
