The City Commission met in regular session,Mayor Dudley and Commissioners Hedges and Traub
voting aye on roll . call.
Moved by Dudley, seconded by Hedges, that the minutes of the regular meeting of Tuesday,
October 14th',1924, be approved as read; carried, Dudler,Hedges and Traub voting aye on roll
call.
RESOLUTION NO.B- 866,11HEREAS, It has come to the attention of the City Commission that
certain parties have applied to the Department of Public 1%17orks for a permit to operate
motor vehicles for the carrying of passengers between the cities of Yakima and Ellensburg
over the new road along_ the Yakima River,-and
'jjHSREAS, the Northern Pacific Railway Company is furnishing good. and. sufficient
passenger and express service between said. points, and
1111 "RZAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the public convenience and
necessity fo not require motor vehicle service which needlessly compete with the service
now rendered by the Northern Pacific Railway Company,
NOW THrREFORE BE IT RESOLVF'D by the Corzgiss: ion that it is opposed to the
granting of said petition of said applicants to operate motor vehicles for the carrying of
passengers and express between Yakima and Ellensburg as not being in the public.interest,an
BE IT FURTI I.R RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be mailed to the Depart-
ment of Public Works at the City of Olympia.

All of the cost -and expense of the construction and installation of said pipe
line and. appurtenances, acquiring and purchasing of the necessary rights of way, -.grater and
water rights, engineering and advertising, and all other expenses incident thereto, ' shall be
assessed against all of the property above described in the manner provided by law.
All persons who may desire tt.) obj'�ct to the proposed improver.ient are hereby
notified to appear at a meeting of the City Commission to be held in the City Office building
in the City of Yak irna,Yakima Count yi lashington, at the hour of nine o'clock A.M., on 1,�rlonday
the 10th day of November,1924, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of., all
matters relating to the proposed. improvement or objections therefor, and for determining the
method of payment therefor, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice of said
?:,eaxing and of the- intention to make the aforesa,id.improvement.
The cost and expense of said improvement shall.be borne by and assessed against
all of the property legally and p =roperly,;.- assessable therefor, as provided by law, and the
City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission, at or prior to the date
fixed. for said hearing, all of the data and. information required to bd submitted by him.
