Moved by Traub, seconded by Dudley, that this being -the time and place for the hearing on
Resolution No.B -853, for the construction of an irrigation system on Broadway Avenue and
Peach Street and other property in the City of Yakima,' and no protests being presented in
writing or otherwise to said improvement it is ordered that the ordinance creating a local
improvement district be laid on the table for one week; carried, Dudley and Traub voting
aye on roll call, Hedges absent.
ORDINANCE NO-A-843; entitled :. "An Ordinance providing for the construction of water mains,
laterals service piper and appurtenances, together with water and water rights for the
purpose of furnishing water for.irri-ation and domestic purposes to certain property in the
City.of Yakima, Washington, establishing a local improvement district, providing for the
levy and collection-of special assessirents;, and a method of payment of the cost and payment
thereof; Was introduced by Traub and read by the City Clerk.

and read by title only; carried, Dudley and Traub voting aye on roll call, Hedges absent.

Local Improvement District No. 387; said bids to be received on Monday the 30th day of
June,1924, at 10 o'clock A.M. carried, Dudley and Traub voting aye on roll call, Hedges
absent.
ORDINANCE NO-A-844, entitled: "An Ordinance authorizing a contract between the City of
Yakima, ��.nd- Pacific Power & Light Company, a corporation, providing for the furnishing by
said Pacific Pourer & Light Company, a corporation, of electric lighting service for the
streets a.nd highways within the limits of the said City of Yakima, for a period of ten (10)
years from the lst day of July,1924, a copy of such contract being set forth in this.
Ordinance ", was introduced by Traub and read by the City Clerk.

That the .City Clerk be, and she is, hereby authorized and directed to advertise and offer
for sale, Thirteen Thousand ($13,000.00) Dollars of fire apparatus bonds,1924, under and
pursuant to Ordinance No.A -842, passed by the City Commission, signed and approved June 9,19
for vrhich a loan in said ar:1ount 'vas':��ratified and •confirmed, which said Ordinance also
authorized the issuance of said bonds for the purpose of paying the cost and expense
specified in said Ordinance No . A -842.

In advertising said bonds for sale, the City Clerk shall give notice that sealed
bids for the purchase of said bonds will be received by her, at her office, address speci-
fied therein, until'-the hour of ten o'clock A.M. on Monday,July 14th,1924, e ;d will be by
her publicly -pened at said time and place.
The notice shall* state that said bonds will be as of, and will be dated August
lst,1924I that the denomination of each of said bonds ( including bond Number Ore) will be
One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars; that said bonds will be serial in form.and maturity, and
numbered from one upward, consecutively, and shall mature annually, commencing with the
second.year, and ending not later than the thirtieth year after their said date of
issuance, in such amounts (as nearly as practicable) to be specified by-the City Commission
by Resolution, as will; together with the interest on all outstanding bonds, be met by an
equal annual tax levy, for the payment of said bonds and interest; that said bonds will
bear interest from their said date, at not to exceed six (6 %) per cent per annul, 1-3ayable
semi- annuaally, and that both principal . and interest will be payable at the +��asl)ington Fisca
Agency* in ?'Sew York City, or at the City Treasurer's Office in the City of Yakima,Washi.ngton
at the option of the holder.
By such notice, bidders shall be,required to submit separate bids,. specifying:
(a) The loudest rate of interest and the premium, if any, above par, at wlli ch the
bidder ,ill-, purchase said bonds, or
(b) The' lowest rate of interest at tirhich the bidder will purchase said bonds at
par, said bonds to lae without condition, interlineation, explanation or erasure.
Such notice shall specify that all bids shall be ,waled and that except the
bid of the state of Washington, if-one is received, each shall be accompanied by .a deposit
of five (5%) per cent, either cash or a certified check, of the amount of the bid, which
shall be returned if the bid is not accepted, anti that if the successful bidder shall foil
and neglect to complete the purchase of said bonds within thirty (30) days.following the
acceptance of his bid, the. amount of his deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Yakima,
and that, in that event, the corporate authorities may, at their option, accept the bid
of the one making the next best bid.
The notice shall state that the right is reserved by the City of Yakima, to
reject any and all bids, but that no bid may be withdrawn after the same shall have been
filed with the City Clerk, unless permission so to do be first obtained from the City
Commission.'
The notice c)lling for bids for .the purchase of said bonds shall. be published
once a week for four (4) successive weeks in the official newspaper in the City of Yakima,
and. a copy of such notice shall be mailed to the State Finance' Committee, at Olympia,
Vlashington, at least three (3) weeks prior to said date.
In said notice the City Clerk shall include such information pertaining to sai
bonds as shall clearly explain the same to the intending purchaser, and shall give full
information as to their character.
