Moved by Dudley, seconded by Hedges, that the minutes of the-regular meeting; of Monday, January 28th, 1924, and ad j ourned thereof be approved as read; . carried, Dudley, Hedges and Traub voting aye an .roll .call. T,Ioved, by Traub,.. seconded by Dudley, that the street payro7.1 from January 21st to February 2nd,1924 in the sum of $606.43 and Cemetery Department for $90.00 is hereby approved and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants therefor; carried, Dudley, Hedges and -Traub voting aye on roll call. Moved. 'by Dudley, seconded by Hedges, that the claim of Ida Brandt in the sum of 4$11,400.00 for damages alleged to have been sustained by reason of falling on the sidewralk in front of the service station of the Standard Oil Company on V ,,rest Yakima Avenue at Third' Avenue on the Northwrest quarter thereof at a point five or six feet east of the east line of gnat property upon which the hloffett building is situate is hereby rejected; carried; Dudley,. Hedges and Traub voting aye on roll call. IVToved by Traub, seconded by Hedges, that this being the time and place for receiving bids on furnishing concrete se,re-r pipe for constructing a sewer on Clarke Avenue and the bid of the Yakima Cement Products Ccrnpany in the sum of $ 1925.85 being the lowest and best bid for furnishing concrete sewer pipe and for the construction of the sewer and manholes, Thomas Dingle, contractor, in the sum of 4'6192.20 ,Fias the lowest and best bid; it is ordered that both of the above bids be accepted; carried, Dudley, Hedges. and Traub voting aye on roll call. Local Improvement District No.; 30£3,' providing for the construction of a .general water system, it was provided. that whenever it was deemed expedient by the City Cor'imis's ion to install additional pipe lines, 1at.crals, and service, connections to deliver water to individual lots, tracts and parcels of land ,.iii thin the -limits of said District,. such other Local Improvement District Would.b.e +established as might be deemed necessary, and the cost and expense to be incurred'in furnishing and supplying such property with water for irrigation and domestic uses would be paid by levying special assessments upon property within such District in the manner provi.d.ed by law, and VVh- REPAS, It is now deemed expedient by the City Commission that a Local Improvement District be� "formed for the purpose of constructing the necessary pipe lines and appurtenances and acquiring necessary water rights and rights of way in order to supply various lots and tracts of land with -grater for irrigation and domestic purposes, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOD by the City Cormiission of the City. of Yakima Washington, that it is. the intention of tre City Commission to construct water mains and laterals for the purpose of supplying water for irrigation and domestic uses to the f ollowi described property in the City of Yakima,`Ilashington, to -wit: Lots One (1 ) to right (8), both inclusive, in Block D, and Lots One (1) to Eight (8), both inclusive,' in Block G, in SOUTH PARK ADDITION, and the east 125 feet of the north 860 feet of the wrest one half of the northwest quarter of the northeast quarter (ff2- TTYlt -Np' 4) of Section 30, Toti��rnsllip 13, North Range 19, E.Y.M. ,.all in the City of Yakima, Yakima County,t °lashington. This' improve ?neat is tc consist of the acquiring of the necessary rights of way water and water rights for furnishing -,,rater for irrigation and domestic purposes- -to all of the property above described, and the construction of a lateral pipe line connecting with the main pi.pe,line of the general water system of the City of Yakima, as provided.by Ordinance No.A -594, of the Ordinances of the City of Yakima, passed by the City Commission October 20,1921, and - establishing Local Improvement District No. 308, said connection beiiig on Pacific Avenue in the City of' Yakima,rVashington, and extending thence southerly along the alley west of said Blocks D and G in South Park Addition to the City of Yakima,Yakima County,lashington, according to the official plat thereof now on file and of record_ in the office of the Auditor of Yakima County,`lIas,�ington, a distance of 870 feet, together with galvanized iron service connections extending from said lateral, pipe line to the marginal lines of each lot or tract of land within said district abutting upon either side of the pipe line herein provided f or. All of the costs and expense of the construction and installation of said pipe lines and appurtenances, acquiring and purchasing case_rients and-rights of tray, engineering, advertising and all other expense incident thereto, shell be assessed against all of the property above described in the r:anner provided by lawn. All persons who may desire to object to the proposed improvement are hereby '' notified to appear at a meeting of the City Co-r- missioh to be held at t.,,.-le City Office buildin� in the City of Ya kima,Yakirna County, Washington, at nine o'clock A.M. on Monday, the 25th day of February,1924, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said proposed improvement, all objections thereto and for Bete .dining the method of pa.w-ient therefor, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to' give notice of said hearing and oftthe intention to make the aforresaid improvement. The costs and expense of said improvement shall be borne by and assessed against all of -.the property legally and properly assessible therefore as provided by lawn, and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City :Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing all of the data and other information reav ired by law to be submitted by him.
