June 18th - ,1923.
The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Rovig and Commissioners Fraser and
Marble voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Rovig, seconded by Fraser, that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday,
June llth,1923, be approved as read; carried, Rovig,Fraser and Marble voting-aye.on roll
call.
Ifloved bj- LTarble, seconded by Fraser, that Tracts A,B & C Boulevard Addition to the City
of No. Yakima (now Yakima) be purchased for a Street Department Site; said tracts to be
paid for from the Current Expense Fund in the sum of $1680.00; carried, Rovig,Fraser and
Marble voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Fraser, seconded by Marble, that the following; property be purchased from Daniel
G. Goodman, et ux, for the sum of $1120.00; Commencing at a point 10-2� rods west and 152
rods south of the Northeast corner of Section 25 -13 -18 E -W *M; thence north 152 rods to
the north line of Section 25; thence arrest along said section line a:-distance of 12 rodg;
thence south a distance of 11 rods; thence in a southeasterly direction in a straight line
to point of beginning; carried, Rovig,Fraser and Marble voting aye on roll _call.
Loved by Marble, seconded by Fraser, that this being the time and place for the hearing on
Resolution No.B -836 to construct the Buena Vista Water System and no protests being pre-
sented in writing or otherwise to the proposed improvement, it is ordered that the
ordinance creating a local improvement district be laid on;.thb table for. one,. week;.carriea .
Rovig, Fraser and Marble voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Marble, seconded by Fraser, that this being the time and place for the hearing
on Resolution No.B -835 to constr-Lict an irrigation system knoiFrn as Sub- District No. 5, of
the General %'ater System, and no protests being presented in writing or otherwise to the
proposed improvement, it is hereby orderers that the ordinance creating a Local Improvement
District be laid on the table for one week; carried, Rovig,Fraser and Marble voting aye
on roll call.
Moved by Marble, seconded by Rovig, that this being the time and place for receiving bids
for the construction of a sewer in Block 32, Local Improvement District No. 377, the
following bids were received; Frank M. Hardy, $1182.00; Coluccio & Erickson, ",x992.50 and
J.M..DeBlasio, $883.10; the latter being the lowest and best bid said contract vras awarded
to him; and the Mayor and City Clerk authorixed to.ti.iexecute a contract with J.M. DeBlasio
for doing said work; carried, Rovig,Fraser and Marble voting aye on roll call..
Moved by Rovig, seconded by Fraser, that the City of Yakima enter into an agreement with
the Yakima Commercial Club, to lease to said Club for a period of 5 years from April lst
1923, with an option of a 5 year renewal of such privilege, that certain tract of land
known as "Fraternal Park "; the stipulation and agreements of the parties hereto being
more particularly described and set forth in said agreement on file with the City Clerk;
carried, Rovig,Fraser and Marble voting aye on roll call.
ORDINA,NCE NO.A -793, entitled: "An Ordinance appropriating money for the payment of the
damage claim of Rose Abbott " -, was introduced by Marble and read by the City Clerk.
Moved- by Fraser, seconded by Marble, that Ordinance No.A -793 be passed to its second
reading and read by title only; carried, Rovig,Fraser and Marble voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Fraser, seconded bl- Marble, that Ordinance No.A -793 be passed to its third reading
and read in full; carried, Rovig,Fraser and Marble voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Fraser, seconded by Marble, that Ordinance No-A-793 be passed as finally read;
carried, Rovig,Froser and Marble votinsj aye on roll call.
Moved by Rovig, seconded by Fraser, that we do now adjourn; carried, Rovig,Fraser and
Marble voting aye on roll call.
