The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Rovig and Commissioners Fraser and
Marble voting-aye on roll call.
Moved by Rovig, seconded by Marble,, that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday; -
May 21st,1923, be approved as read; carried, Rovig,Fraser and Marble voting rye on roll call,
Moved by Fraser,seconded by Marble, that claims on the Current Expense, Cemetery, Park and
Cemetery Care Funds be allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants therefor;
carried, Rovig,Fraser and Marble voting aye on roll call.
Moved-by Marble, seconded by Fraser, that the Street, Park, Cemetery and Cemetery Care
payrolls from May 14th to May. 26th,1923, be allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue
warrants therefor; carried, Rovig,Fraser and Marble voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Marble, seconded by Fraser, that this being the time and place for the hearing on
Resolution No.B -834 to construct an 8 inch clay pipe sewer in the alley along Walnut Street
et a1, and no protests being presented in writing or otherwise to said improvement, it is
ordered that the ordinance creating a local improvement district he laid on the table for
one week; carried, Rovig,Fraser and Marble voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NOB -835, WHEREAS., By Ordinance No.A -514, creating and establishing Local
Improvement District No. 308, providing for the construction of a general water system, it
was provided that whenever it was deemed expedient by the City Commission to install
additional pipe lines, laterals and service connections to deliver water to individual 10ts,
tracts and parcels of land within the limits of said district, such other Local Improvement
Districts would be established as might be deemed necessary and the cost and expense to be
incurred in furnishing and supplying such property with water for irrigation and domestic
uses would be paid by levying spedial assessments upon property within such District in the
manner provided by law, and
VIIIEREAS, It is now deemed expedient by the City Commission that a Local Improvement
District be formed for the purpose of constructing the nece- -nary pipe lines and appurtenan-
ces and acquiring necessary water 'rights and.rights of way in order to supply various lots
and tracts of land with water for irrigation and domestic purposes..
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMuIMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMVIA,
71ASHINGTON :
That it is the intention of the Ci -,- Commission to construct water mains and laterals
for the purpose of supplying water for irrigation and domestic uses to the following
described property in the City of Yakima,`Nashington,_ to -wit:
Lots 7 to 16 both inclusive in Block 311, and Lots 1 to 5 inclusive and Lots 9 to
16 inclusive all in Block 312 all in Capitol Addition to the City of Yakima, according to
the official plat thereof on file and of record in the office of the Auditor of Yakima
Count y,111ashington.
This improvement is to consist of the acquiring of the necessary rights of way, water
and water rights for furnishing water for irrigation and domestic purposes to all of the
property above described, and the construction of lateral pipe lines, connecting with the
main pipe line of,the general water system of the City of Yakima, as provided for by
Ordinance No.A -594 of the Ordinances of the city of Yakima, passed by the City Commission
October 20th,1921, and establishing Local Improvement District No. 308, said connection
being on Sixth Avenue South in said City and extending thence westerly along Blest Chestnut
Street to a line 155 feet easterly from Seventh Avenue South, thence southerly along said
line parallel with Seventh Avenue South to the north side of Lot 11, Block 312 in Capitol
Addition, thence westerly along the north side of said Lot 11 to a point 40 feet easterly
from Seventh Avenue South; also beginning on West Chestnut Street and extending thence north,
erly along the alley east of Seventh Avenue South to a point 210 feet northerly from West
Chestnut Street, together with galvanized iron pipe service connections extending from said
lateral pipe lines to the marginal lines of each lot or tract of land within said district
abutting upon either side of the-.lateral pipe lines herein provided for.
All of the cost and expense of the construction and installation of said pipe lines
and appurtenances, acquiring and purchasing easements and rights of way, -engineering,
advertising -and all other expenses incident thereto shall be ass.essed against all of the
property above-,described in the manner provided by law.
All persons who may desire to object to the proposed :.improvement are hereby notified
to appear at a meeting of the City Commission to be held at the City.'Office Building in the
City of Yakima,ffashington, at 9:00 o'clock A..M. on Monday, the 18th day of June,1923, which
time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said proposed
improvement, all objections thereto and for determining the method of payment therefor, and
the City Clerk is hereby("directed to give due-notice of said hearing and'of -the intention
to-make the aforesaid improvement.
The dolt and expense of said improvement shall be borne by-and assessed against all
of the property legally and properly as.sessible therefor as provided by law, and the City
Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at-nor prior to the date fixed
herein for said hearing all of the data and other information required by law to be sub-
mitted by him.

RESOLUTION NO.B -836, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE .CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA,WASHINGTON:
That it is the intention of the City Commission to construct an irrigation system
or s�Zpplying the following described property with water for irrigation and domestic uses,

May 28th,1923.
All that part of the East Half of the Northwest quarter of the Southeast quarter
(E2 of N'�`14 of .SE4 of SE4) of Section 23, Township 13, North Range 18 E.W.M. , lying south
of the right of .way of the Naches and Cowich'e Ditch and located within the City of Yakima,
Yakima County, "Washington, by the acquiring of the necessary rights of way., water and water
rights for -furnishing,Nater for irrigation and domestic purposes to all of said.property
and the construction of the necessary intake or head works for diverting water from the
Naches and Cowiche Ditch, the construction of a pipe line connecting with said head works
and extending thence southerly to the alley south of 'Jest Chestnut Street inthe City of
Yakima.,Washington; thence east to the alley east of Nineteenth AvenueSouth; thence south
along said alley to a point 580 feet south of Nest Chestnut Street, toget_-er with galvanized
iron pipe service connections extending from said pipe line to the marginal line of each
lot or tract of land abutting upon either side thereof, all in accordance with the maps,
profiles, plans and specifications therefor to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed
with the City Clerk.
The City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at or
prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing all of the data and other information
required by him to be submitted.
The total cost and expense of the construction and installation of the aforesaid
water system, the purchase of necessary rights of way, ~mater and water rights, and all cost
of engineering and surveying, advertising., clerical labor and all other expense .incident
thereto shall be borne by and assessed against the aforesaid property according to the
special benefits conferred-thereon.
All persons who may desire to object to the proposed improvement are hereby
notified to-appeEir at a meeting of the City Conunission. to be held at the City Office
Building in the City of Yakima,Wastington, at nine o'clock A.M: .on Monday, the 18th day of
June,1923, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters. relating to
said proposed improvement, all objections thereto and for determining the method of payment
therefor, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and of
the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
