Moved by Rovig, seconded by Fraser, that the minutes of the regular meeting of Monday-, February 26th,1923, and adjourned meeting thereof be approved as -read; carried, Rovig, Fraser and Marble voting aye on roll call. Moved by Fraser, seconded by Rovig, that claims on the Current Expense, Cemetery and General S-mrrer System be allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants therefor; carried, Rovi.g,F'raser and Itriarble voting aye on roll call. Moved by Marble, seconded by Fraser, that this being the time and place for receiving bids on the Hillcrest Irrigation System in Local Improvement District No. 371, and the follow - ing being received to -wit: Hardy Construction Company, $5219.52; Geary & Dunn,. $4623.4.5; Coluccio & Erickson,,$4455.10; Bert Hart -well, $4392_.41; and Campbell Construction Com any:,” $42318.20; it is ordered that the bid of Campbell Construction Company in the sum of 423S._2( be accepted as the lowest and best bid for the doing of said -work and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute a "contract therefor upon the giving of a good and sufficien' fond by the contractor; carried, Rovig,Fraser and Marble voting aye on roll call. Moved by Marble, seconded by Fraser, that the City Engineer prepare assessment rolls in the following Local Improvement District - Maintenance Districts, 253 - 259 - 276 - 279 -257 -294 and 342 and the City Clerk is hereby authorized to give notice of hearing- on said rolls by pub- lication as required by law for Monday, March 26th,1.923, at 9 o'clock A.M. carried, Rovig Fraser and Marble voting aye on.roll call. Moved by Fraser, seconded by Rovig, that the City Clerk give notice to contractors by publi"cation as required by law for the construction of a community building on Block 65, city of Yakima; said bids to be received on Monday the 19th day of March 1923 at 10 o'clock A.M. carried, Rovig,Fraser and Marble voting aye on roll call. Moved by Rovig, seconded by Fraser, that the City Clerk give notice to contractors by pu;-lication as required by law for constructing a City jail on the rear of Lots 1,2 and 3 Block 13, City of Yakima, to be approximately 65x35 feet in length and to cost "not exceed- ing the sum of $30,000.00; said bids to be received on Monday the 19th day of March 1923, at 10 o'clock A.M. carried, Rovig,Fraser and Marble voting aye on roll call. IESOLUTION NO.B- 829,BE IT RESOLVED BY TIDE, CITY C01flISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WASH INGTON: That it is tts intention to improve Nineteenth Avenue South from Division Street to Bonnie Doon Avenue by grading and.paving the same with a black top pavement, 16 feet vide, having a crushed rock base three inches in thickness and either a bituminous concrete -wearing surface or a bitulithic w(r aring surface one inch in thickness, by constructing the necessary culverts, pipes and drains and by doing all such:other -work as --may be necessary in connection therewith, all in accordance with plans and specifications prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk. All persons -rho may desire to object to said proposed improvement are hereby .notified to appear and present such objections at a meeting of the City Commission to be held at its offices in the City Office Building, in the City of Yakima,lflashington, at-the hour of nine - o'clock A.M. on Monday the 26th day of March;1923, -which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said proposed improver "gent, all objections thereto and for deterriining the method of payment therefor, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and of .the intention to make the aforesaid improvement. TIE CITY C011D'JII -SSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA,WASHINGTON That it is its intention to improve Belmont Avenue and Mt. Vernon Avenue, each from Sixteenth Avenue North to Fifteenth Avenue North and Fifteenth Avenue North from West A Street to the alley north of West Yakima Avenue, by grading and paving -the same v -,wi th either a one course Portland cement concrete pavement, or a pavement having a bituminous concrete - rearing surface and-either a Portland cement concrete base, a black base or a crushed rock "base, or with a pavement having a bitulithic gearing surface and either a Portland cement concrete base, a black base or a crushed rock base, and by doing all such other -work as may ,be necessary in "connection therewith all in accordance with plans and specifications to be prepared b-.- the City Engineer, and filed with the City Clerk.
