Moved by Marble, seconded by Rovig, that the City Clerk. give riotice to coritractors for-the improvement of south first street from Pacific Avenue to Lenox Avenue by constructing a bituminous concrete wearing surface on top of the existing Portland cement concrete pavement by constructing additional strips of pavement '2 feet in width along the west sidle of existing pavement from Pacific .Avenue to Lenox Avenue and along `east side of existing pa'vernent from intersection of South Third Street to Lenox Avenue; Said bids to be received on Yo.nday the 29th day of Ilay 1922, at 10 o'clock A.M. carried, Rovig and Y'arble voting aye on roll call, Fraser absent. RESOLTIT TnN Nn .B -784 , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COEWI S-SI:ON Ot' THE CITY OF YAYIYA,JkTASJi?1TGTON : That it is the intention of the City Commission of the City of Yakima, Washington,' to acquire, 'i.mprove,• extend, maintain and. operate a system of water mains and laterals for the purpose of furnishing water under gravity pressure for irrigation and domestic uses along the routes hereinafter described.; to acquire the necessary easements, rights -of -way, water and water rights therefor, to convey water to the lots, tracts and parcels of land within the limits.of the district hereinafter described and to create and establish a Local Improvement District and levy -end collect special ssseonnents to pay the cost and expense thereof. The Local Improvement District sh.al.l include the lots, tracts, and parcels of land in the City of Yakimn,Wnshington, within the following described boundaries: Beginning at the intersection of West Chestnut Street and Sixteenth Avenue South; thence East along 'Vest Chestnut Street to Twelfth Avenue South'; thence South along Twelfth Avenue South to the South line of Loma Vista Addition; thence West along the South line of Loma Vista Addition to Fourteenth Avenue South; thence South along Fourteenth Avenue South to Division Street; thence West along Division Street to Sixteenth.Avenue South; thence North along Sixteenth Avenue South to the place of' beginning. The water supply for the aforesaid district is to be obtained from the Naches & Cowiche Ditch at its intersection with West Chestnut Street and shall be conducted to and distributed throughout the district by pipe lines, located along th-e.following routes: "Line A" will begin at the Naches and Cowiche Ditch and extend thence east along West Chestnut Street.to Twelfth Avenue South. "Line B" will begin at We!-,t Chestnut Street and extend south along.the alley east of Sixteenth Avenue South to Division Street. "Line C" will begin at West Chestnut Street and extend south along the alley east of Fifteenth Avenue South to Division Street. "Line D" will begin at the alley east of Fifteenth Avenue South and extend east along the north side of Lot 20, Block 2, Loma Vista Addition and along West Walnut Street to'the alley east of Thirteenth Avenue South, thence south along the alley east of Thirteenth Avenue South to the south line of Lora Vista Addition. "Line F" will begin at `Test Walnut Street and extend thence south along the alley east of Fourteenth Avenue South to the south line of Loma Vista Addition. All of the cost and expense of the construction and installation of the water mains, pipe lines and laterals; water rights, essernents and rights of way, engineering, surveying, supervision of construction, advertising, clerical labor and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be assessed against all.of the property within the limits of the entire district in the manner provided by law. The aforesaid water mains, pipe lines and laterals shall be constructed of wood or metal or a combination of such materials and shall be equipped with the necessary valves and•other appurtenances together with service connect- ions for the lots and tracts of land to be served thereby. All existing pipe lines shall be used in connection with said improvement so far as the Game shall. be found serviceable. All persons who may desire to object to proposed improvements as aforesaid are hereby notified to appear at a meeting of the City Commission.to'be .held at its City Offices in the City Office Building in the City of Yakima, Washington, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. on Monday, the 5th day of June,1922, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said proposed improvement, all objections thereto, and for determining.the method of payment therefor, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of such hearing and. of the intention to make •the aforesaid improvement by pub- lishing a copy of this resolution in'at least two consecutive issued of the official news- paper of said city, the date of the first publication to be at least fifteen days prior to the date fixed herein for such hearing, and the City Engineer is hereby directed to subr^it, to the City Commission at or prior to the aforesaid date and time fixed for such hearing, the estimated cost and expense of such improvement and such other data, diagrams and, estimates as may be required by law to`be.furnished and submitted by him. Yakima County,Waghington, at a point 570.5 feet north of Division Street, in said City, and extending thence north 575 feet, the first 175 feet of said sewer to b'e 8 inches in inside diameter and the remaining 400 feet to be 6 inches in inside diameter, said sewer to be provided with 24 wye branches, 1 Manhole and 1 flush tank, and the doing of all such other work as maybe necessary in connection .therewith, all in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared.by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk.
