The City Corallission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioner Huey present
on roll call. Commissioner Huza absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, September 20th, 1954, were approved as re
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns that the bids for three police cars heretofor received
on the 2nd day of August 1954, and award postponed until a later date, in the total sum
of 12,990.70, or the sum of $+996..93 on each car, including tax and trade in of three
police cars, No's. 8, 13 and 14, is hereby accepted, as no other bids were received,
carried: Burns and Huey voting aye on roll call. Huza absent.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns that this being the time for the hearing on Resolution
No. C -1156, providing, for the construction of alley paving in Lots 1 to 16, Block 55,
and Lots 1 to 9 and 11, 15 and 16, in Block 251, City of Yakima and there being insuffi-
cient objections to said improvement, or any part thereof; it is ordered that Ordinance
No. H -1596, creating L.I.D. No. 787, be passed as read, carried: Burns and Huey voting
aye on roll call. Huza absent.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1596, AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of certain property by
grading, and paving with asphaltic concrete placed on a crushed rock base; establishing
• Local Improvement District, providing for the method of payment therefor, and creating
• special fund. _
Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns that this being the time for the hearing on Resolution
No. C- 1..158, providing for the construction of curbs and gutters on 33rd Avenue South
and 34th Avenue South beginning at a point on Nob Hill, Blvd., and there being no objec-
tions in i ritin,�, or otherwide, to said improvement, or any part thereof; it is ordered
that Ordinance No. P -1597, creating_ L.I.D. No. 78$, be passed as read, carried: Burns
and Huey voting aye on roll call. Huza absent
ORDINANCE ?,JO. B -1597, Ali ORDINr?NCE providing for the improvement of property in the City
of Yakima, Wa=;hin;;ton, by the construction of a domestic water system, establishing
local improvement district, providing for the method cf payment therefor, and creating
a special fund.
Moved. by Huey, seconded by Burns that Resolution No. C -1162, being a resolution of inten-
tion to improve Lots 1 to 33,,inclusive, in Westview Addition, by constructing a pipe
sewer system, be adopted as read, carried: Burns and Huey voting aye on roll call.

RESOLUTION NO. C -1162, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COWT ISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKII,-�A:.
That it is its intention to improve the lots and tracts of land
included within the following described district, by constr?actin- pipe sewers with the
necessary wye branches, manholes and flush tanks; all of said improvements to be con-
structed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City
Engineer and filed with the City Clerk.
The district to be served by and specially benefited b, and
assessed for the above described improvement is situate %i.thin the City of Yakima, Yakim
County, ,STashington, and is described as .follows:
Lots 1 to 33 inclusive, of palest- iew Addition to the -City of,
Yakima, according; to the recorded plat thereof on _file in
the Auditor's office of said County.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement
are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of the
City Commission to be held at is office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima
Countv, 'rTashington, at the hour of 10 otclock a.m., on Monday, the 11th day of October,
1954; which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to

said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and "or determining the method of pay-
ment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of
said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement s.
All costs and expenses in connection with the construction of
said improvement, including the cost of engineering-, inspection, advertising, publication
of notices, cost of acquiring ri:ht -of -way easements and all other expenses incident
thereto, shall be levied and assessed against the above described property embraced with-
in said. Local Improvement District as provided by law; this improvement to be constructed
in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer,
and the City m-ineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at or prior to

That it i, its intention to improve the following property by
constructi_n,g the necessary mains, fire hydrants, valves, and. other appurtenances for the
purpose of supplying water for domestic use.
The district to be served by and assessed for the above describe
improvement is situated in Yakima County, Washington, and described as follows, to -wit:
Lots 1 to 33, inclusive, of 0ilestview Addition to the City
of Yakima, according to the recorded plat thereof on file
in the office of the Auditor of Yakima County, !..fashilngton.

Said improvement to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications
to be prepared by the City Engineer and _filed with the City Clerk.

The cost of this improvement is to be paid for by special assess-
ments to be levied against the property in the district, as provided by law, and as above
described; and the City Engineer, is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at
or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the date and other information
required by law to be by him submitted.

Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the petition of W. R. Alabaster, Executor of the
estate of Logan H. Roberts, deceased, for annexation of the weft 412.6 feet of the north
7.55 acres of Lot 1, Phoebe D. Adams Subdivision, is hereby accepted and the City Clerk
is here by instructed to give notice of hearing on said petition by publication as re-
quired by law and by posting a notice in 3 public places on the property sought to be
annexed; said hY,aring to be on Monday, September.27th, 1954 at the hour of 10 o'clock a.m.

Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey that Dr. Mervyn D. liVeinberg be appointed to the Planning
Board,to succeed George M. Lemon; said appointment to take effect August 16th, 1954 and
to continue for a period of 6 years, or until Au,:�ust 16th, 1960, carried: Burns and Huey
voting aye on roll call. Huza absent.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey that the City Clerk is hereby instructed to give notice
to bidders by publication as required by law, for the purchase of two four -door cars for
the police department; said purchase to include the trade in of two cars belonging to the
police department, numbers 4 and 9; said bids to be received on Monday, October 4th, 1954;
at.-10 o'clock a.m:, carried: Burns and Huey voting aye on roll call. Huza absent.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey that we do now adjourn, carried: Burns and Huey voting
aye on roll call. Huza absent.
