The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Huza and Huey...
pre-sent-'bra roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, August 30th, 1954, were approved as read.
This -being the time for the`hearih:on',Resolution Nb. C -1154, providing for the improve-
ment of curbs and gutters on 9th Avenue North from Willow Street to Fruitvale Boulevard,
and there being objections from property owners in said district, it was moved by Huey,
seconded ?,y Huza, th_A the Engineer check said protests �.nd report the percentage later,
carried; Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that this being the time for the hearing on the assessmen
roll providing for the construction of a domestic water system on Lots 1 to 16, Mock 2,
Shannon Homes Addition, and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said
Assessment roll, or any part thereof; it is ordered th-et Ordinance No. B -1592, confirming
said assessment roll and every part thereof, be passed as read, carried: Burns, Huza and
Huey voting; aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1592, AN ORDINANCE confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improve-
ment Dis`;rict No. 776 as meated and established by Ordinance No. D -1575 of the Ordinances
of the City of Yakima.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that the claim of the City of Union Gap, in the sum of
$251..94 for sewage treatment and trunk sewer operation and maintenance, be approved and
the City Clerk authorized to issue a warrant on the City_ Water Department in payment
therefor; carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns, that the report of the Investment Committee for invest-
ments purchased dia.ring the month of August 1954, be approved as follows:

Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that Resolution No. C -1159, being a resolution of inten-
tion to improve the lots and tracts of land on Englewood Ave. and other streets in the
City of Yakima, by the construction of a sewer system, be adopted as read, carried:
Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C -11591 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COTNIVIISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIA�IA:
That it is its intention to improve the lots and tracts of land
and included within the following described district, by constructing pipe sewer with
the necessary wye branches and manholes; all of said improvement to be constructed in
full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer
and filed 1,rith the City Clerk.
The district to be served by and specially benefited by and
assessed for the above - .described improvement is situate within the City of Yakima, Yak
County, I,*ashington, and is described as follows:
Beginning; at a point on the south line of Englewood Avenue
165 feet east and 25 feet south of the Northeast Corner of
The Northeast quarter of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest
quarter of Section 22, Township 13 North, Range 18 E. W. M.,
thence southerly and parallel vjith 44th Avenue North to the nort
line of Douglas Drive; thence westerly along said north line

erly along said extended line to the south line of Englewood
Avenue; thence easterly along- the said south line to the point

All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve-
ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of.
the City Commission to be held at its of_'ice in the City Hall in the City Commission to
be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington,
at the hour of 10 o'clock A.M., the 27th day of September, 1954, which time and place
are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said proposed improvement or
objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment for said improvement; and
the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and of the intention
to make the aforesaid improvement.

All costs and expensees in connection with the construction of
said improvement, including the engineering, inspection, advertising, publication of
notices, cost of acquiring right -of -way easements and all other expenses incident there-
to, shall be levied and assessed against the above described property embraced within
said Local Improvement District as provided by law; this improvement to be constructed
in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer,
and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at or prior to
the date herein fixed for said hearing, all of the data and other information required
by law to be by him submitted.

tion to improve Lots 4 to 9, of Block 4, Johnson's Corner Subdivision and Lots 1 to 6,
inclusive of Block 4 Allan's Subdivision of Lot 12 of Allan's Acre Tracts by the con-
struction of a Portland cement concrete sidewalk 5 feet in width, be adopted as read,
carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C -1160, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COT,TMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA :
That it is its intention to improve the East side of 20th Avenue
South from Bonnie Doon Avenue to Nob Hill Boulevard, by constructing a Portland cement
concrete sidewalk five feet in width, according to plans and specifications to be pre-
pared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk. The district to be served and
especially benefited by and assessed for the above described improvement is 'situate in
the City of Yakima, Yakima, County, Washington, anddu scribed as follows, to -wit: .
Lots 4 to 9 inclusive, of Block 4, Johnson's Corner Sub-
division and Lots 1 to 6 inclusive, of Block 5, Allan's
Subdivision of Lot 12 of Allan's Acre Tracts, according
to the recorded plats thereof on file in the office of
the Auditor of Yakima County, Washington.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement
are hereby notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting of tl-2
City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima
County, 111ashington at the hour of 10 o'clock a.m. on Monday, the 27th day of September,
1954, sphich time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to

ADJOURNED MEETING, September 8th, 1954, 10 :00 o'clock a.m.
The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Huza and
Huey present on roll call.
Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns that Resolution No. C -1161, being the preliminary bud-
get for the ensuing fiscal year, be adopted as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey
voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C -11611 WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Commission of
the City of Yakima, Washington, a budget covering the detailed estimates of all expendi-
tures proposed to be made by the City of Yakima fb ?r the ensuing fiscal year, and a
statement of the probable revenue from sources other than taxation for the ensuing fis-
cal year, in the manner and form prescribed by law, and
IMEREAS, the same has been considered by the City Commission
in detail and such revisions and additions made as has been deemed necessary;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That the aforesaid budget be and the same is hereby adopted
and approved .as the budget for the City of Yakima for the ensuing fiscal year, and the
City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice that said budget has been placed on file,
and a copy thereof will be furnished any taxpayer who will call at the office of the
City Clerk therefor, and that the City Commission of the City of Yakima will meet on the
.first Monday of October 1954, at the office of the City Commission in the City Hall, at
the hour of 10 o'clock A.M., for the purpose of fixing the final budget and making the
tax levies and notifying any taxpayer that he may appear at said meeting and be heard
for or against any part of said budget and said notice shall be published once each week
for two consecutive weeks imm6diately following the adoption of said preliminary budget.
