Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that this being the time for the hearing on the assess- ment roll, L.I.D. No. 764, providing for the construction of curbs and gutters on North Naches Avenue and other streets in said district, and there being insufficient protest against said improvement, or any part thereof; it is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1579, confirming said assessment roll and every part thereof, be passed as read, carried: Burn Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -15791 AN ORDINANCE confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improve ment District No. 764 as created and established by Ordinance No..B -1498 of the Ordinance! of the City of Yakima. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that the bid of Carroll and Sanislo, in the sum of $2,967.00, heretofore submitted on the 19th of July 1954, for the construction of a sewer system in the Biz ins Addition, L.I.D. No. 774, and held in abeyance for the reason that said bid was 10.$1 above the Engineer's estimate, and it being considered advisable that the property owners residing in said district be,notified of such bid, and there being no protests filed against the acceptance of said bid; it is ordered that said bid in the sum of $2,967.00 be accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to enter into a con- tract on behalf of the City of Yakima for doing said work, upon the filing of the proper bond therefor, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that the City Engineer having reported the completion of the construction of the Cleman Avenue Sewer system,. L.I.D. No. 769, by the contractor; said work is hereby accepted, and the City Engineer instructed to prepare an assessment for said district, and the City Clerk authorized to give notice of hearing on said roll by publication as required by law for Monday, the 23rd day of August 1954, at 10 otcloek A.M., carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Stamper.for extension of time to October 1st, 1955, for his employment in the City dater Department, is hereby extended to said date, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns that the claim of Union Gap, in the sum of $212.76 for sewage treatment plant and trunk sewer operation and maintenance for June 1954, be allow- ed and the City Eater Department authorized to issue a warrant in payment thereof, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. C -1149, A RESOLUTION providing for a special city election to be held in the City of Yakima on Tuesday, September 14, 1954, and prescrib- ing the form of ballot therefor. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. B -1577, granting a nonexclusive twenty - five year franchise to The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company, was passed and approved by the City Commission of the City of Yakima on July 26, 1954, subject to the approval of the electors of said City as provided in the City Charter; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. C -1151, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY C0MMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA : That it is its intention to improve West Lenox Avenue from Third Avenue South to Ledwich Avenue by grading, ballasting, surfacing and by constructing concrete curbs and ;,utters on the south side thereof and on the north side for a distance of 330 feet,: easterly- from the end of the existing curb and gutter at the alley east of Landon Avenue; all of said improvements to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk. The district to be served by and assessed for the above- described improvement is situate in Yakima County, Washington, and described as follows, to -wit: Beginning at the intersection of the north line of West Lenox Avenue with the east line of Third Avenue South; thence northerly along the east line of Third Avenue South to a point midway be= tween West Lenox Avenue and Stewart Street; thence easterly and. parallel with West Lenox Avenue to a point 320 feet east of the east line of the alley in Block 8, Broadway Park Addition No. 2; thence southerly and parallel with said east line to West Lenox Avenue; thence easterly to the center line of Ledwich Avenue; thence southerly along Ledwich Avenue to a point midway between West Lenox Avenue and West Prasch Avenue; thence westerly and parallel with West Lenox Avenue to the east line of Third Avenue South; thence northerly along, said east line to the point of be- ginning. BURNS Mayor Moved_by Huza, seconded by Burns, that Resolution C -1152, authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a lease on behalf of the City of Yakima with Jacob Woitt and wife, for a certain portion of the Yakima Municipal Airport, which was heretofore purchased by the City from Vic Ohlson, be adopted as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -1152, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That it is for the best interest of the City to enter into the ,lease hereinafter mentioned, and that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute for and on behalf of said City'A lease with Jacob Woitt, Jr., for a certain por- tion of the Yakima Municipal Airport premises as recently enlarged, the description them of being more specifically set out in said lease, for a period of one year for August lst, 1954, to July 31st, 1955, together with certain option renewal rights as therein mentioned, according to the terms and conditions of the said lease, copy of which is attached to this resolution.
