The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, June 7th, 1954, and recessed meeting there- of were approved as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huzq, seconded by Huey, that Resolution No. C -1131, providing for the completion of the oiling and balasting of.the south access road at the Yakima Municipal airport, be adopted as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -11311 WHEREAS, on May 17th, 1954, the City Commission of the City of Yakima passed and approved Ordinance No. B -1560 entitled "AN ORDINANCE providing for the expenditure of funds not budgeted, not exceeding $8,000.00, for improvements, repairs and maintenance at the Yakima Municipal Airport, establishing the airport repair and maintn- ance fund, and declaring an emergency. "; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That the City Commission hereby declares that an emergency exists with reference to the following matter and the City Street Department is hereby authorized and directed to complete the oiling and ballasting of the South access road at the Yakima Municipal Air - port, which is owned and operated by the said City of Yakima, and to construct, blacktop oil surfacing on the said South access road and on a strip adjacent to the taxiway and part of the leased portion of said airport, and such other improvements repairs and main- tenance at the said Yakima Municipal Airport as may be designated in the discretion of the City Finance Corgmissioner. That the cost thereof., not exceeding the total sum of $8,000.00, shall be paid out of the airport repair and maintenance fund in the manner more fully provided in said ordinance. BURNS Mayor Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized to advertise for bids, by publication as required by law, for the construction of a sewer system on Lots 1 to 16, inclusive in Hillacre Addition, L.I.D. No. 769; said bids to be received o Monday, June 21st 1954, at 10 otclock A.M., carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Burns, seconded by Huza, that the City Attorney is hereby instructed to prepare the necessary ordinance relative to the establishment of a longevity system for the members of the Police department of the City of Yakima, which is hereby approved by the City Commission, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Movedby Burns, seconded by Huza, that Dr. Orval Peterson, be appointed to fill the vacancy of Dr. Rector Johnson, resigned, on the Yakima City Library Board; said appoint- ment to begin on April 7, 1954 and to expire on January 1, 1956, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Burns, seconded by Huza, that Dr. Orval Peterson, be appointed to fill the vacancy of Dr. Rector Johnson, resigned, on the Yakima. Valley Regional Library Board; said appointment to begin on April 7, 1954 and to expire bn January 1, 1957, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
