The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, May 10th, 1954, were approved as read, carried: Burns, Huza-and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns, that Ordinance No. B -1560, providing for.the emergency expenditure of $8,000.00 for improvements, repairs and maintenance of the airport which was introduced on Monday, May 10th, read in full by the city clerk and laid on the table for one week, be read by title, and passed in full, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1560, AN ORDINANCE providing for the expenditure of funds not budgeted, not exceeding $8,000.00, for improvements, repairs and maintenance at the Yakima Munici- pal Airport, establishing the airport repair and maintenance fund, and declaring an emergency. Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns, that Resolution No. C -1124, providing for the construc- tion of a sewer district for Lots 1 to 16, inclusive in Blk. 2, Shannon, Homes Addition, be adopted as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -11241 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COIMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That it is its intention to improve the lots and tracts of land included within the following described district, by constructing a pipe sewer with the necessary wye branches, manholes, flush tank and water connection therefor; all of said improvements to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk. The district to be served by and specially benefited by and assessed for the above- described improvement is situate within the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, and is described as follows: Lots 1 to 16, inclusive, Block 2 of Shannon Homes Addition. All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, ?,dashington, at the hour of 10otclock a.m. on Monday, the 14.th day of June, 1954; which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment for said improvement; and the "ity Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hear- ing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement. All costs and expenses in connection with the construction of said improvement, including the engineering, inspection, advertising, publication of notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be levied and assessed against the above described property, as provided by law and as above described; this improvement to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer, and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted. BURNS Mayor Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that Resolution No. C -1125, providing for the construc- tion of a domestic water system for Lots 1 to 16, inclusive, of Hillacre Addition, be adopted as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -11251 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COikMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That it is its intention to construct a domestic water system to serve all of the lots and tracts of land included within the following described district situated in Yakima County, Washington; Lots 1 to 16, inclusive, of Hillacre Addition. Said improvement to consist of the installation of the necessary mains, fire hydrants, valves and other appurtenances for the purpose of-supplying water for domestic use, and to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk. All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of the City Commission, to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, dashingtori, at the hour of 10 :00 otclock a.m., on Monday, the 14th day of June, 1954; which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of pay- ment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and of the intention to .make the aforesaid improvement. The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, inspection, publi- cation of notices and all other expenses incident thereto shall be borne by and assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor, as provided by law and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other information required bylaw to be by him submitted. BURNS Mayor 91 MAY 17, 1954 Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns, that Resolution No. C -1126, authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an agreement on behalf of the City of Yakima with the Otis Eleva tor Company for maintenance service of the two elevators in the City Hall on a monthly fe basis of, 174.00, subject to all terms and conditions provided in said contract, be adopt ed:as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -1126, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed. to execute that certain proposed contract dated April 20th 1954 with Otis Elevat- or Company, prepared and. presented by that company, for procuring Otis Maintenance ServicE by that Company on the two Otis electric passenger elevators located in the City Hall or MuniciT)al building in said City, for the agreed sum of :174.00 per month, payable monthly; plus 30o' Washington State Sales Tax, and subject to all of the terms and oonditions as morE fully Provided in said elevator maintenance contract. BURNS City Clerk Mayor Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns, that the bill of the Totem of Union Gap in the sum of #205-90 for maintenance of the Sewage disposal plant at said. station, be paid and the City Clerk authorized to issue a warrant on the Mater Department fund in payment there- for, carried: Burns, Huza-and Huey voting aye on roll call. A.proposal_ from the Knights of Pythias, Lodge No. 53, Yakima, suggesting that the name of Fire Station No. 1, be changed to Hauser Station in honor of Charles A. Hauser deceased, who was the first Fire Chief in the City of Yakima, was tabled, and the matter taken under advisement by the City Commission. Pvoved. by Burns, seconded by Huza that we do now adjourn to meet Tuesday, May 18th, 1954, at 1O.o7clock A.M., carried: Burns, Huza and Huey.voting aye on roll call. ADJOURNED MEETING, TUESDAY, MAY 18th, 1954, 10 :00 otclock a.m. The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Huza and Huey present on-'roll call. Moved by Huza, seconded by Huey,_that Resolution No. C -1127, providing for the renewal of membership with the Association of Washington Cities, and authorizing the payment of the annual dues in the sum of $805.00, be adopted as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -1127, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIPuIA: That the City of Yakima shall forthwith renew its membership in, and affiliation with the Association of Washington Cities for an additional one year period, namely for the calendar year 1954; and the appropriate city officials are hereby authorized and directed to pay the annual membership fee for said year as provided in the city budget. BURNS Mayor Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that the mayor and city clerk are hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City of Yakima that certain Rider in connection with the contraci entered into between the United Builders, and City of Yakima, dated May 10th 1954, which is attached to said contract and made a part thereof, the same as though fully written therein, carried: Biirns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
