The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday May 3rdi,1954', were approved as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Movedby Huey, seconded by Huza, that this being the time for the hearing on petition to annex Lots 1 to 16 inclusive of Block 2 of Shannon -Homes Subdivision, and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said annexation, or any part thereof; it is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1556 annexing said property and every part thereof to the City of Yakima be passed as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1556, AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by the City of Yakima, Washington, of certain property contiguous to the City of Yakima, Washington. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that this being the time for the hearing on the petition for annexing property beginning at the intersection of the center line of Summitview Ave. with the center line of Crescent Drive, and othere property more fully described in said petition, and there being no objections in writing, or otherwise, to said annexation or any part thereof; it is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1557, annexing said property and every part thereof to the City of Yakima, be passed as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B15571 AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by the City of Yakima, Washington, of certain prroperty contiguous to the City of Yakima, Washington. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns that this being the time for receiving bids for paving the alley in Block 131, Husonts Additon, in L.I:D,. No. 763, the following were received: Columbia Asphalt Paving Co. $12007.00 Lone Pine Paving Co. 996.00 The bid of Lone Pine Paving Co. being the lowest and best bid, the same was accepted, and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Yakima for doing said work, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey; seconded by Burns, that this being the time for receiving bids for paving for paving the alley in Block 2, Elliott Heights Addition, L.I.D. No. 767, the following were received: Columbia Asphalt Paving Co. $1,600.25 Lone Pine Paving Co. 1,596.50 The bid of Line Pine Paving Co., beeng the lowest and best bid, the same was accepted, and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to enter into a contract for and on behalf of the City of Yakima, for doing said work, carried: Burns, Huza:.and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Burns, seconded by Huza, that the report of the Investment Committee for invest ments purchased during the month of April 1954, are hereby approved as follows: City Commission Yakima, 1pfashington Gentlemen: The following investments were purchased during the month of April: Cumulative Reserve for Library Building Yakima L.I.D. ; #76o - Bonds 19/26 Cemetery Trust Yakima L.I.D ##760 - Bonds 27/36 APPROVED: INVESTMENT COMMITTEE G. RICHTER City Treasurer /s/ $42000.00 5,000-00 $92000.00 Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that Resolution No. C -1123, authorizing and directing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Yakima, with Lloyd Hammerstad and John Storsahl, doing business as United Builders, and the Yakima Federal Savings and Loan Association, for the purpose of providing the installation of a domestic water main on South 24th Avenue and Clinton Way, be adopted as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -1123, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute a written contract with Lloyd Hammerstad and John Storsahl, doing business as United Builders, and the Yakima Federal Savings and Loan Association, providing for the install ation by said City of a six inch water main on South 24th Avenue and on Clinton Way, wit the City to be reimbursed by said United Builders for the cost thereof, a copy of said contract being attached hereto and reference being made thereto for a more complete statement of the terms and conditions thereof. B -15581 AN ORDINANCE reducing the city license fee or occupation tax levied upon every person engaged in or carrying on a telephone business, from 3% to to of the gross income from such business in the City of Yakima, repealing Ordinance No. B -1550, passed. on March 22, 1954, amending Ordinance No. B -579, passed on December 18, 1942, and declaring an emergency. Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns that Ordinance No. B -1559, providing for the licensing . and- bonding of tree removers and requiring permits for the removal of trees, be passed as read, carried.: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDIr11ANC E No. B -1559, AN ORDINANCE providing for the licensing and bonding of tree remov- ers, requiring permits for the removal of trees, providing penalties, and declaring an emergency. An ordinance was introduced and read in full by the City Clerk for the expenditure of funds not budgeted not exceeding $8,000.00, for improvements, repairs and maintenance at the Yakima Municipal Airport; also establishing the Airport Repair & Maintenance fund, and was ordered laid on the table for one week.
