The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, April 26th, 1954, were approved as read, carried: Burns,- 'Huza,and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for receiving bids for a four - door sedan for the Police Department, the following were received: Burrows Motor Co., basic bid, ¢$2 229.08, less discount of ,209.00, less Federal Excise tax of,$111.00, plus sales tax of .57.27, less trade -in of No. 6 Police car, of $1200.00, or a total net price F.O.B. City of Yakima of $766.35. Cheshire Pontiac Motors Co. Basic Bid :$2,925.63, less Federal.Excise Tax of $149.00, less trade -in of $1,402.00, or a total net price to City of Yakima of x11,374..63, plus State Sales Tax of 3%. The bid of Burrows Motor Co., in the sum of $766.35, was accepted as the lowest and best bid, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting; aye on roll call.- Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that the application of Paul J. Proback for extension o employment as Plumbing Inspector from July lst,1954. to July lst, 1955, was granted, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns, that Marie Donelson be appointed Deputy City Clerk to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Suzzane Hunt; said appointment to begin May 1, 1954, and to continue during the pleasure of the City Commission, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey votin. aye on roll call: Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns that Theresa Nevue, be appointed to the office of Licens and Registration Clerk, said appointment to begin May 1, 1954 and continuo during the pleasure of the City Commission, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved. by Huey, seconded by Burns, that Resolution No. B- 1122, authorizing and directing the Mavor and City Clerk to execute an agreement between the Yakima - Tieton Irrigation District for an irrigation water system construction and maintenance permit as an exten- sion to the Uplands irrigation system, be adopted as read; carried: Burns, Huza and Hue voting: aye on roll call. Resolution No. C -1122, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That the Mayor and City Clerk of said city are hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver to Yakima- Tieton Irrigation District an irrigation water system construction and maintenance permit for an irrigation water line as an ex- tention to the Uplands irrigation system in and along Avalanche Avenue from a point mid- way between Crescent Drive, which is also known as 40th Avenue North, and 41st Avenue North to Crescent Drive; thence north in and along Crescent Drive a distance of approxi- mately 500 feet, � ^,ithin the City of Yakima, subject to the terms and conditions therein stated, a. copy thereof- being attached hereto and incorporated. by reference herein. day of May, 1954. BURNS Mayor A petition was presented to the City Commission by owners of property in the vicinity of 220 North 16th Avenue protesting the construction of a commercial building for the reason that said construction is contrary to the zoning classification in that particular area. No action as taken on the petition at this time: The Police department presented an ordinance to the City Commission for their perus- al which would establish a longevity pay plan for said department and prescribing the amount and condition for payment of such employees. The City Commission took the matter under advisement. Moved 'by Burns, seconded by Huza, that we do now adjourn, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
