HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/19/1954 Business Meeting. ',APRIL 19, 1954 The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Huza and Huey present on roll call. The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, April 12, 1954, were approved as read. Moved by Burns, seconded by Huza, that Ordinance No. B -1551, fixing the time of delinquen- cy and prescribing the form of bonds in L.I.D. No. 760, be passed as read, carried; Burns Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE No. B -1551, AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District No. 760, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of the unpaid portion thereof. Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey, that Ordinance No. B -1552, making the issuance of certain commercial instruments disorderly conduct, and prescribing a penalty therefor, be passed as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1552, AN .ORDINANCE making the issuance-of certain commercial instruments disorderly conduct, and prescribing a penalty therefor. An ordinance providing for the expenditure of funds not budgeted for services and expense in connection with the Lenox Avenue Over -pass and pertaining to court litigation in con- nection therewith, and declaring an emergency, was introduced and read by the City Clerk. It was moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that said ordinance be laid on the table for one week, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that Resolution No. C -1117, pertaining to the parking of cars on the streets in Yakima, be adopted as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. _ RESOLUTION NO. C -1117, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Pursuant to paragraphs (b) and (c) of section $$ of the City Traffic Code, Ordinance No. B -1526 passed on December 31, 1953, as amended by Ordinance No. B -1546 passed on March 15th, 1954, no parking shall be permitted at any time, and the operator of a vehicle shall not stop, park or angle park such vehicle, on the following named additional streets and avenues in said city: The East side of South 17th Avenue from Bonnie Doon to Stewart Street; The South side of Summitview Avenue from Yakima Avenue to 8th Avenue; The North side of Summitview Avenue from 7th Avenue to Pierce Street; and that the commissioner of public works,shall. cause the same to be marked with appropri- ate signs or markers. day of April, 1954. BURNS Mayor Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that Resolution No. C -111$, authorizing and directing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute an agreement on behalf of the City of Yakima, with the Cascade Lumber Co., providing for the installation of a 6 inch meter, valves and fit- tings by the City at the expense of said Lumber Co., in the sum of $1,007.32, the same being one-half of the city's share of said cost of installation of said water main and attachments thereof on North 7th Street between "I" and 11K11 Streets, which will hereafter be a private water line, be adopted as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -111$2 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COTUIISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the city of Yakima a memorandum of agreement with the Cascade Lumber Company providing for the installation of six inch meter, valves and fittings by the City at the expense of the Cascade Lumber Company and for the payment by it to the City of $1,007.32 being reimbursement of its one -half share of the City's cost of instal- lation of the six -inch water main and attachments in North Seventh Street between "I" and 11K11 Streets which will hereafter be a private water line; a copy thereof being attached hereto. day of April, 1954. BURNS Mayor Moved by Huza, seconded by Huey, that the City Clerk is hereby instructed to advertise for bids for a 4 -door sedan for the police department, said bid to include a treade -in of a 1952 Ford 4 -door sedan, being Police car No. 6. Bids for the above car will be received on Monday, May 3rd 1954, at 10 o'clock A.M., carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
