The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Huza and Huey present on roll call. The minutes- of the regular meeting of Monday, March 8th 1954, were approved as read. This being the time for receiving bids for Liability and Property Damages the automotive fleet of the City of Yakima, the following bids were received: Goldade Insurance l31081-33. ency in the sum of $3,268.72, and Ackley - Alvestad Insurance Inc. in the sum of The bid of Ackely - Alvested, in the sum of $3,081.33, being the lowest and best bid, said bid was accepted, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that the City Clerk is hereby instucted to advertise for bids, by publication, as required by law, for the purchase of a 22 Ton Gravel Dump Body, Hoist and Power Take -Off for the Street Department; said truck, including a trade -in of a 1943 Studebaker Army Truck with hoist and gravel bed; said bids to be received on Monday, April 12th, 1954, at 10 :00 otclock A.M., carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey, that 6,ftn. M. Yeaman, be reappointed to serve the City Library Board; said appointment to date from January 1st, 1954, and to continue for a term of five years, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that Resolution No. C -1112, authorizing the City Treasurer to add to the 1954, Irrigation Maintenance assessment roll, Lots 1 to 15, both inclusive; of the Brentwood Court Addition, the sum of $3.95 additional irrigation main- tenance assessment for each lot -for said year, all as more particularly set forth in said resolution, be adopted as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -1112, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That the City Treasurer is hereby authorized, empowered and directed, to add to the -1954 Irrigation Maintenance Assessment roll of Lots 1 to 15 both inclusive of the Brentwood Court Addition to the City of Yakima, the sum of $3.95 additional irrigation maintenance assessment for each of said lots for said year, for the purpose of thereby reimbursing said city for the cost of the materials required to change the service connections of said lots to a standard irrigation water service connection. BURN S Mayor Moved by Burns, seconded by Huza, that Ordinance No. B -1546, amending Sections 13, 24, 50, 66, to 83, both inclusive, 86, 89, 149, 156 and 161, of Ordinance No. 13- 1526,, and re- numbering the sections thereof from Section 76 to the end thereof, the same being the traffic code of the City of Yakima, be passed as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1546, AN ORDINANCE amending Sections 13, 24, 50, 66 to 83 both inclusive, $$, $9, 96, 149, 156 and 161 of Ordinance No. B- 1526.entitled, "'AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating traffic, travel and transportation and their incidents upon the streets and other ways open to the public; prescribing the pourers and duties of officers and others in relation thereto; defining offenses; providing penalties, and repealing Ordinance No. B -131 and all amendements thereof and all other ordinances in so far as they are in con- flict therewith, and declaring an emergency" and renumbering the sections thereof from Section 76 to the end thereof, and declaring an emergency: Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that Ordinance No. B -1547, fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments levied for the payment of the costs in L.I.D. No. 762, be passed as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RDINANCE NO. 8 -1547. AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of ass- essments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement Dist- rict No. 762, and providing for the issueance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of the unpaid portion thereof. Moved by Burns, seconded by Huza, that Ordinance No. 3 -1548, regulating hotels, rooming and lodging houses, and providing for licenses thereof, fixing penalties for violation thereof, be passed as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. E -154$, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING section 3 of Ordinance No. B -360 entitled: "AN ORDINANCE regulating hotels, rooming and lodging houses; providing for licenses there- for; fixing penalties for violation thereof, and declaring an emergency ", and declaring an emergency. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that this being the time for the hearing on the annexat= ion of property described as beginning at the intersection of Grant Street and 20th Avenue South; thence South along 20th Ave. S. to the center line of Viola Avenue, then west slong said center line of Viola Ave. to the center line of 22nd Ave. Sout.; then north along the center line of 22nd Avenue S. to the Existing city limits to the point;of beginning; and there being no objections to said annexation or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No. 9=1549, providing for the annexation of said described property and.every part thereof, be passed as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll_ call. ORDINANCE NO. B -15499 AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by the City of Yakima, Washington, of certain property contiguous to the City of Yakima, Washington.
