The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Huza and Huey present on roll call. The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, February 15, and adjourned meeting thereof sere approved as read. Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns, that the bid of Munnell & Sherill, Inc., for 500 feet for 411 Fabric Puritan Brand Single Jacket Wax and Gum hose with couplings attached @ . $2.15 per foot with 2% discount 10th of month, be accepted as the lowest and best bid, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved'by Huey seconded by Huza, that this being the time for the hearing on the assess- ment roll, L.f.D. No. 760, providing for the 20th Avenue South sewer district, and there being insufficient protest against said improvement or any part thereof; It'is ordered that Ordinance No. B =1541, confirming said assessment roll and every part thereof, be passed as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1541, AN ORDINANCE confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improve- ment District No. 760 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1480 of the Ordinance of the City of Yakima. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that Ordinance No. B -1542, fixing the time of delinq- uency and prescribing the form of bond in L.I.D. No. 759, be passed as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -15421 AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District no. 759, and providing for the issueance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of the unpaid portion thereof. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that Ordinance No. B -1543, fixing the time of delinq- uency and prescribing the form of bond in L.I.D. No. 761, be passed as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B-15431 AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District No. 761, and providing for the issueance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of the unpaid portion thereof. Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns, that Resolution No. C -1105, fixing the interest rate on registered warrants of Current Expense fund, be adopted as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C- 1.1052 A RESOLUTION "fixing interest rate on registered warrants of Curren expense fund of the city of Yakima. WHEREAS, The City Commission of the City of Yakima did heretofore provide for the registration of warrants issued on the-current expense fund of the City of Yakima, and fixing the interest rate thereon at 2%; and WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and advisable that said interest rate be now in- creased from 2% to 3% in order that said warrants will be accepted at the bank of this city and for the investment of city investment funds; NOW,, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said registred warrants hereafter issued on the current expense fund of the City of Yakima draw interest at not to exceed 3% from and after their presentation, and that said interest rate appear on the face of said warrants ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved this 23rd day of February, 1954• ATTEST: PEARL BENJAMIN City Clerk ( S E A L ) G. Foley, for damages against the City of Yakima, in the sum of $2,610.00, alleged to have been sustained by reason of injuries received by reason of falling on an icy approach to the Administration Building belonging to Fire Department No. 1, of the City of Yakima, be rejected, carried. Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that the claim of Steve Pavlich, for damages in the sum of $10,545.00 against the City of Yakima, alleged to have been sustained by reason of falling on an icy sidewalk at the northeast corner of North Front Street and East "A" Street, be rejected, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns, that the City Clerk is hereby instructed to give notice to bidders, by publication, as required by law, for the purchase of 3000 feet of 3/4 inch, and 1020 feet of 1 inch, soft annealed Type "Kn copper water service pipe in 60 ft. coils, F.O.B. Yakima, for the City Water Department;;said bids to be received on Monday, March 8th, 1954, at 10 o'clock A.M., carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the City of Yakima grant to C. L. Shelton, a waiver for city water prior to the confirmation of the petition for annexation to the City of Yakima, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that the Rev. Ivan Bell be appointed to membership on the Board of Adjustment to fill the unexpired term of James Bronson, resigned; said term of office to expire July 7, 1954; also that Paul Goode be appointed to said Board of Adjustment to fill the unexpired term of J. S. Applegate, resigned; said term of office to expire July 26, 1956, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Burns, seconded by Huza, that Dr. Rector Johnson be appointed to the City Library Board, to fill the vacancy of James Garretson, resigned,-'said appointment to expire on January lst, 1956:; carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. `(Continued on page No. 472) I TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 1954 (Continued from page 471) Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the petition of the Cascade Lumber Company for the vacation of North Seventh Street between "I" Street and "K" °Street, and East "K" Street from North 7th Street to the nearest alley west thereof, be accepted, and the City Attorney instructed to prepare the necessary proceedings therefor, carried: Burns, Huza. and Huey voting aye on roll call.
