The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Huza and Huey ` present on roll call. The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, February 1st 1954, were approved as read. This being the time for receiving bids for the purchase of 500 feet of 4'* single jacket fire hose for the Fire Department, the following were received: Howard Cooper Co. $2.30 per ft. Wilco Fire Equip. 2.24 per ft. Fire Extinguisher Service 2.19 per ft. Munnell &-Sherrill, 2.15 per ft. Roneyts(Yakima Chie42.30 per ft " (Wash. Brand ) 2.20, per ft: or $1,184.50 incl. Sales tax. or 19120.00 or 1,095.00 plus sales tax. - 2% discount - 2% discount - 2% discount The above bids were read by the.City Clerk and taken under advisement by_the City Comm- ission and Fire Chief, and award to be made at a later date. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that the City Engineer having reported the completion of the piping of the old union ditch on Fair Avenye L.I.D. No. 768, by the contractor, said work is hereby accepted, and the City Engineer instructed to prepare an assessment roll for said district, and the.City.Clerk authorized to give notice of hearing on said assessment roll by publication as required by law; said hearing to be on Monday, March 1st, 1954, at 10:00 otclock A.M., carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare the necessary papers relative to the petition of Gustave Hunsinzer for annexation of South 20th Avenue and South 22nd Avenue from the City Limits south to Viola Avenue, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huza, seconded by Huey, that Ordinance No. 3-1535, heretofore introduced on Monday, February 1st, 1;954, read in full by the City Clerk and laid on the table for one week was again read by the City Clerk; It is herefore ordered that said ordinance be passed as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1535, AN ORDINANCE providing for the payment of the sum of $1,627.13 to the Town of Union Gap for the share of the City of Yakima of the maintenance and oper- ation expenses of the Union Gap Sewage Disposal system for the last six months of 1953, and providing for the payment thereof out of the 1954 City Water Department Fund, and declaring an emergency.
