The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Huza and Hugr present on roll call: The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, January 25th 1954, and adjourned meeting thereof, were approved as read. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that this being the time for the hearing on the re- zoning of Lots 1 to 15, Cascade Addition, from "B" Residence district to Commercial Dist- rict, and' .there being several residents residing-within.the boundaries of said district protesting against rezoning; `It.is ordered that said,hearing be.continued to Tuesday, February 16th, 1954, at 10 :00 otclock a.m,.. carried.:** Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. An ordinance was introduced providing for the payment of the sum of $1,627.13, to the Town of Union Gap for the share of the City.of Yakima for operation and expenses of the Union Gap Sewage Disposal Plant, and read by the City Clerk, and laid on the table for one week. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that the City Engineer having reported the completion of the improvement of the sewer on 20th Avenue South, L.I.D.. No.-760, by the Contractor, said work is hereby accepted, and the City-Engineer authorized to,.prepare an assessment roll for said district, and the City Clerk is hereby instructed to give notice of hearing on said assessment roll by publication as provided by law for Tuesday, February 23rd, 1954, at 10 :00 otclock A.M., carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that Ordinance No. B -1553, fixing the time of delinquen and prescribing the form of bond in L.I;D. No. 757, being Fair Avenue, Irrigation Distri be passed as read, carried:, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -15331 AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District No. 757, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of the unpaid portion thereof. Moved by Burns, seconded by Huza, that Ordinance No. 9=1534, providing for the public peace, safety, morality and good order in the City of Yakima by prohibiting false, mis- leading or unfounded reports-or statements to the Police Department, be passed -as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.. ORDINANCE NO. F'1534, AN ORDINANCE for the preservation of the public peace, safety, morality, and good order in the City of Yakima, by prohibiting false, misleading or unfounded reports or statements to the Police Department; providing penalty for the viol- ation thereof, repealing Ordinance No. B -1202, and declaring and emergency. Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns, that Resolution No. C -1101, providing for notice to bidders for the'City printing for the ensuing year be adopted as read, said bids to be received.on Monday, February 15th, 1954, at 10:00 otclock A.M., carried: ,Burns, Huza and*Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -11012 WHEREAS, by ordinance, it is provided that on the first Monday in February of each year, the City Commission of the City of Yakima, Washington, shall pass a resolution prescribing the form of contract for the city advertising for the ensuing year; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City. Commission that the form of contract for the city printing for the ensuing year shall be in substantially for form hereto attached and made a part hereof; and the city clerk is hereby directed to give notice for sealed,proposals for a contract for doint ehe city advertising for the ensuing.year by publishing the same in the newspaper doing the city printing and advertising for two consecutive issues, which notice shall contain a general statement of the terms of the contract to be let, together with the -time and place when said bids will be opened, and providing that any and all bids may be rejected. BURNS Mayor Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that Resolution No. C -1102, authorizing the Yakima Valley Transportation Co. to change its route on the Summitview bus line from Summitview Avenue to Chestnut Street on Glen Drive instead of Hillcrest Aveune and then east on Chestnut Street to Grandview Avenue be adopted as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C-11021-WHEREAS, Section 3 of Ordinance No. B -731, passed by the City Commission of the City of Yakima on the 18th day of September, 1946, provides among other things, that the City Commission may declare by Resolution that public convenience req- uires service on any street or streets within the City of Yakima where the Yakima Valley Transportation Company, a corporation, does not .provide such service; and that the City Commissiom may order and direct the Yakima Valley Transportation Company, a corporation, to institute such new and additional service; and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Commission that public convenience and safety require a change in bus service on the Summitview bus line as hereinafter provided now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That public convenience and safety require the following change in the route of bus service on the Summitview bus line on the return trip to the downtown business district of said city, namely, from Summitview Avenue to Chestnut Street on Glen Drive rather than Hillcrest Avenue and thence East on Chestnut Street to Grandview Avenue, and continuing on present route. BURNS City Clerk Mayor Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that a fund to be called the "Shop Fund ", be set up for the propose of purchasing supplies and parts for the Garage, and that the sum of X700.00 be borrowed from the Street Department to finance said fund until the same may be repaid .:.0 from said fund to the Street Fund-, be adopted as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -11031 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: 1. That there is hereby set up and established a special fund to be known as the "Shop Fund ". The said Sho Fund is hereby authorized and directed to borrow the sum of Seven hundred. dollars (700.00) from.the Street Fund of said city, and the said sum may be loaned accordingly by said Street Fund, and the same shall be used for the purchase of a supply of parts, materials and supplies for the repair of city vehicles for an inventory parts stockroom at the City Garage. 2. Each city department which hereafter receives repair service for its vehicles at the City garage, shall be charged therefor on the basis of the cost of the labor for said repairs plus the cost of the parts "and materials used therefor plus an additional ten percent of the cost of.the parts and materials:--:used for such repairs. 3. Said loan from the Street Fund shall be repaid by the Shop Fund as funds are available therefor out of payments received by the Shop Fund pursuant to section 2 hereof. C -1104 "S"' and "C" of Bedkert s Addition ) to North Yakima, now City of Yakima. A RESOLUTION fixing the time for hearing on Petition for Vacation of Street. WHEREAS, a Petition has been filed with the City Commission of the City of Yakima, a municipal corporation, praying for the vacation of a portion of a street described as follows, to -wit: The North one foot of West Spruce Street adjacent to Lots "B" and 11C" of Bedkerts Addition to North Yakima, now Yakima, according to the officail plat thereof now on file and of record in the office of the Auditor of Yakima County, Washington; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That said Petition shall be brought on for hearing and determination on Monday, the 1st day of March, 1954, at the hour of 10:00 otclock in the forenoon on said day at the office of the City Commission of the City of Yakima, at the City Hall in Yakima, Yakima County, Washington., or as soon thereafter as the same may be heard, and that notice of such hearing be given as provided by law.
