MONDAY, JANUARY 4th, 19542 10 :00 Orclock A.M.
The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners-Huza and Huey
present on roll call.
The minutes -of the regular meeting of Monday, . December 29th, 1953 'and adjourned meeting
thereof, were approved as read.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that this being the time for the hearing on the vacation
of that certain dead -end street, known as "Myrtle Place, " -in Cardiffts Addition and
opening onto South 34th Avenue, and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to
said-vacation proceedings or-any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No. B- 1527,•
vacating said above named street, be passed as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting
aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -15271 AN ORDINANCE providing for the vacation of that certain dead -end
street known as Myrtle Place, Cardifft.s Addition, and opening onto South 34th Avenue, in
the City of Yakima.
Moved by Huey, Seconded by Burns, that this being the time for the hearing on the annex-
ation of the S. 130 feet of Lot 6, Block 2, Stonets Addition to said city of Yakima,
lying south of the present city limits, and also the S. 130 ft. of the W2 of Lot 71
Block 2 of said Addition, and there being no protests or objections in writing or other-
wise to said annexation, or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No. B,1528,
annexing said property be passed as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on
roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. 3= 152$9 . AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by the City of;Yakima,
Washington, of certain property contiguous to the City of Yakima,.Washington.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that the ordinance heretofore introduced on-Monday,
December 21st, 1953, and adjourned to Monday, December 28th, 1953, and which was to have
been passed at this time, be continued to Tuesday, January 5th, 1954, -atlO o'clock A.M.,
Carried: Btirns,'Huza and'Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Burns-, seconded by Huza, that we do now adjourn to meet Tuesday, January 5th,
at 10 :00 otclock-A.M., carried:, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
ADJOURNED MEETING, TUESDAY, JANUARY 52 1954, 10:00 ot:cl oc•k a.m.
The City Commission met pursuant.to adjournment, Mayor.Burns and Commissioners Huza and
Huey present on roll call.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that Ordinance No. B -1529, providing for the borrowing
of $400,000.00 and issuing general obligation negotiable bonds for principal and interest
to construct the Lenox Avenue Overpass as read in full by the City Clerk is hereby
unamiously passed by the City Commission, motion carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 13-15299 AN ORDINANCE providing for the borrowing of money in the sum of
($400,000.00 by the City of Yakima and issuing its general, negotiable, serial interest -
bearing cupon bonds therefor, for the purpose of construction of the Lenox Avenue over -
pass, prescribing the form of said bonds,'and creating a fund to redeem said bonds and
interest, and providing for the construction of said Lenox Avenue overpass, and declaring
an emergency.
Moved by Burns, seconded by Huza, that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a
resolution providing for the services of Donald Walter Livingston, as Consultant for the
Planning Commission department, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved bu Huza, seconded by Burns, that we do now adjourn to meet Thursday, January 7th,
1954, at 10 :00 o'clock A.M., for the purpose of considering bids for the printing of the
Traffic Code, carried Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
ADJOURNED MEETING, THURSDAY, JANUARY 71 19542 10 :00 o'clock a.m.
The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Huza and
Huey present on roll call.
This being the time for receiving bids for printing the Traffic Code, the following were
received:

The bid of P. S. Printers, Inc. in the sum of $1,210.90 for 10,000 copies of said code
was accepted as the lowest and best bid, and said bid was awarded to said P. S. Printers,
Inc,, carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huza, seconded by Huey, that we do now adjourn, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey
voting aye on roll call.
