The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Huza and Huey present on roll call. The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, November 30th, 1953, and adjourned meeting of Friday, Decem ter 4th 1953, were.approved as read. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that the City Engineer having reported the completion;. of the 35th Avenue South Curb and Gutter district, L.I.D. No. 759, -said improvement is hereby accepted and the City Engineer instructed to prepare an assessment roll therefor, and the City Clerk authorized to give notice of hearing thereof by publication, as req- uired by law, for Monday, the 28th day of December 1953, at 10 otcloek A.M., carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded .by Huza, that the.City Engineer having reported the completion of the improvement of the alley paving in Block 4, Heermants Addition and Block 2, of Tieton Terrace Addition, L.I.D. No. 791, said improvement is hereby accepted, and the City Engineer instructed to prepare an assessment roll therefor, and the City Clerk authorized to give notice of hearing thereof by .publication as required by law for Monday; 28th day of December 1953, at 10 o'clock A.M., carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, Seconded by Huza, that Resolution C -1096, providing for the hearing on the petition for vacation of that certain dead -end street, known as Myrtle Place,'Cardiffts Addition and opening onto South 34th Avenue be adopted as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. BEFORE THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE'CITY OF YAKIMA STATE OF WASHINGTON IN THE MATTER OF THE VACATION ) OF That certain dead -end street ) known as Myrtle Place, Cardiffts ) RESOLUTION NO. C -1096 Addition and opening; onto South ) 34th Avenue. ) A RESOLUTION fixing the time for hearing on Petition for Vacation of Street. WHEREAS, a Petition has been filed with the City Commission of the City of Yakima; a municipal corporation, praying for the vacation of a street described as follows, to -wit: That certain dead -end street known as Myrtle Place, Cardiffts Addition and opening onto South 34th Avenue; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That said Petition shall be brought on for hearing and determination on Monday, the 4th day of January, 1954, at the hour of 10 :00 o'clock in the forenoon on said day at the office of the City Commission of the City of Yakima, at the City Hall in Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, or as soon thereafter as the same may be heard, and that notice of such hearing be given as provided by law. W.: BURNS City Clerk Mayor Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that Resolution No. C -1097, accepting the revised' - proposal of Cornell, Howland, Hayes & Merryfield, Consulting Engineers, to make an invest- igation and survey of the City Water System on behalf of the City of Yakima, be adopted as read, carried: Burns and Huey voting aye on roll call, Huza not voting. RESOLUTION NO. C -1097, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That the City of Yakima does hereby fully and in all respects accept the revised proposal of Cornell, Howland, Hayes & Merryfield, Consulting Engineers, dated August 12, 1952, for an engineering inve- stigation and survey of the water supply system for the City of Yakima, and said City does hereby employ said firm of consulting engineers to do the engineering work therein referred to for the agreed compensation to be paid by said City as therein mentioned. BURNS Mayor Moved by Burns, seconded by Huza, that the City Attorney is hereby authorized and instructed to prepare an ordinance for the City of Yakima relative to the abandoment of discarded ice boxes and refrigerators and making it a misdemeanor to harbor such merchan- dise in the City of Yakima, carried: Burns and Huza voting aye on roll call, Huey not voting.
