HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/09/1953 Business Meeting.4 MONDAY:, NOVEMBER 9th, 1953, 10:00 otclock a.m. The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioner Huey present on roll call, Commissioner Huza absent. The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, November 2nd 1953 were adopted as read. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for the hearing on Resolution No. C -1089, providing for the improvement of the alley from Division Street to Bell Street, between 17th and 18th Avenue South, by grading and paving the'same, and there being no objections in writing, or otherwise, to said improvement, or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1512 creating L.I.D. No. 767, be passed as read, carr- ied: Burns and Huey voting aye on roll call, Huza absent. ORDINANCE NO. B -15121 AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of the alley from Division Street to Bell Street, between 17th Avenue South and 18th Avenue South by grad- ing and paving with. asphaltic concrete placed on a gravel base; establishing a Local Improvement District, providing for the method of payment therefor, and creating a special fund. Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey, that the application of J. 0. White, Meat Inspector, for an extension of time with the Statewide City Employees Retirement System, from Jan. lst, 1954 to January lst, 1955, is hereby granted and the City Clerk instructed to notify the Secretary of said Retirement System of said extension, carried: Burns and Huey voting aye on roll call, Huza absent. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for receiving bids for the purchase of a 32 drawbar Diesel Tractor for the Garbage Department; said bids to include a trade -in of a 1949 . D -2 Caterpillar tractor, the following were received: Yakima Implement Co. in the sum of $6,409.75, plus 3% sales tax, or $6,6.02.04, with a trade -in of $p1,175.00, or a total of . $5,427.04 Rankin EE uipment Co. in the sum of $6,009.00, plus 3% sales tax, or 6,189.27, less trade -in, or a total of $52000.00 Webb Tractor Co. in the sum of 6,300.00, plus 3% sales tax, or $6,489.00, less trade -in of 81,789.00, or a total of $4,700.00 Said bids were ordered classified and award made at a future date, carried: Burns and Huey voting aye on roll call, Huza absent. Moved by Burns seconded by Huey, that the bid of the American Laundry Machinery Co., in the sum of 4683.00 for a Junior Automatic Washer, and a Motex ExtractQr,in the sum of $365.00, for the Police Department, be accepted as the lowest and best bid, and the only bid submitted, carried: Burns and Huey voting aye on roll call, Huza absent. Moved by Burns, seconded by Huey, that we do now adjourn to meet Thursday, November 12, 1953, at 10:00 o'clock A.M., Carried: Burns and Huey voting aye on roll call, Huza absent. ADJOURNED MEETING, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 1953, 10:00 a.m. The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Burns and Commissioner Huey present on roll call, Commissioner Huza absent. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that the bids heretofore received on Monday, November 9th 1953, at 10 :00 otclock for the purchase'of a Caterpillar Tractor for the Sanitation Department, and the same having been read and tabulated; It is ordered that the bid of the Webb Tractor Co. in the sum of $4,700.00, be accepted as the lowest and best bid, carried: Burns and Huey voting aye on roll call, Huza absent.
