The minutes of the regular meeting of Tuesday, October 13, 1953, were approved as read. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that this being the time for receiving bids for the construction of a curb and gutter district on Naches Avenue North, from 'fI" Street to 'rKr' Street, the bid of DeBlasio Bros. in the sum of $2,700.45, and it appearing that said bid was under the Engineerts estimate; It is ordered that said bid be awarded to DeBlasio Bros. and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby instructed to execute a contract on behalf of the City of Yakima for doing said work, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that this being the time for receiving bids for the construction of a sewer system on the Power House Road District, said project was held over without definite action being taken at this time, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that Ordinance No. B -1501, establishing a sewer mainten- and fund; providing for payment of the operation and maintenance expenses of the sewage disposal system out of the sewer maintenance fund, and providing for the reimbursement of the sewer maintenance fund therefor through the imposition of said tax, be passed as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO'. B' =1501, AN ORDINANCE establishing a sewer service charge or tax, and establ fishing a sewer maintenance fund, providing for payment of the operating and maintenance expenses of the sewerage disposal system out of the sewer maintenance fund, and providing for the reimbursement of the sewer maintenance fund therefor through the imposition of said tax. Moved by Burns, seconded by Huza, that Ordinance No. B -1502, providing for appointive officers and their respective bonds, be passed as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll.call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1502, AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. B -194 entitled "AN ORDINANCE providing for appointive officers of the City of Yakima, defining their terms of office, and repealing Ordinances No. A -3 and No. A -4,1r and amending Ordinance No. 13-196 entitled "'AN ORDINANCE providing for bonds to be given by the City Commissioners, appointive officers, assistants and employees of the City of Yakima, providing for the payment of th cost thereof, and repealing Ordinance No. A -14,11 and creating the appointive officer of Street Superintendent, and providing for his bond. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza, that J. C. Whittle be appointed to the office of Street Superintendent; said appointment to take effect immediately and to continue during the pleasure of the City Commission, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns, that Ordinance No. $ -1503, fixing the time of delinquenc and prescribing the form of bonds, in L.I.D. No. 750, providing for a sewer in the Conrad Addition, be passed as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. )RDINANCE NO. B -1503, AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District No. 750, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of the unpaid portion thereof. Moved by Huey, seconded by Burns, that Resolution No. C -1089, providing for the improve- ment of the alley from Division Street to Bell Street between 17th and 18th Avenue, by grading and paving the same, be adopted as read, carried: Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -1089, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That it is its intention to improve the alley from Division Street to Bell Street between Seventeenth Avenue South and Eighteenth Avenue South by grading and paving the same with asphaltic concrete placed on a gravel base, all of said improvements to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk. The district to be served by and sepcially benefited by and assessed for the above described improvement is situate within the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, and is described as follows: All of the lots in Block 2, Elliott Heights Addition, according to the official plat thereof recorded in the office of the County Auditor of Yakima County, Washington. All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement are hereby notifie to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of ten otclock a.m., on Monday, the 9th day of November, 1953, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said proposed improve- ment or objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment for said improve- ment; and the City -Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and the intention to make the aforesaid improvement. All costs and expenses in connection with the construction of said improvement, in- cluding the engineering, inspection, advertising, publication of notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the datea and other information required by law to be by him submitted.
